Coconut Water & Protein Cookies!!

Heyyyy-Yaaaa! How is everyone’s day going? Mine is just great, but COLD….It was a nice (yes, nice)…45 degrees yesterday and today-about 10 degrees with brisk wind chills! I am staying warm doing lots of indoor activites!

Last night, Jason and I went to one of our favorite restaurants, Nourish. I talked about it more here

Started with a falafel sampler. Falafel balls, tahini sauce, homemade hummus and veggie sticks. Twas delish. The hummus was so clearly homemade and so garlicy and creamy
Sauteed tofu with house sauce served over brown rice. Stirfry veggies and a side of collard greens. IF this is not fit foodie food, I don’t know what is. I had 2 pieces of tofu and some rice left on my plate!
Jason got the pesto (homemade) chicken breast served with garlic mashed potatoes, cornbread and cucumber salad. The combinations on this plate are insane! I would have never put mashed potatoes next to cuke salad next to corn bread, but it worked! and it was so tasty!

——————
I woke up and got right to a nice big ole bowl

Pb and sunflower butter were on the side, obvioussslyyyy.
THen I hit the gym for a workout.  I have my trainer tomorrow and we are doing mostly legs, so I kept it to cardio and some upper body training today. Garmin got me at 702 cals!
  • 4.40 miles on the treadmill
  • 10 minutes on the stepmills (the BIG stairs)
  • 2 sets of 15 bicep curls–>shoulder press while standing on bosu
  • Bosu Crunches
  • Back extensions holding 6lb med ball
  • Push press (squat–>shoulder press)
  • Bench Push ups

Came home and had a post workout mess of cottage cheese, 1/2 banana, strawberries, fiber one

I received my giveaway win from EatingRD. Vitacoco Coconut water. Lots of delicious flavors!
Did you know that coconut water has 15 times more potassium than that found in sport drinks? It’s also naturally loaded with the five key electrolytes: potassium, magnesium, phosphorous, sodium and calcium. It’s what you need to stay hydrated. On a diet? No sweat! Vita Coco is also fat and cholesterol free.
Sure, you may not be a marathon runner, a football player or Tour de France winner, but your every day life is hectic enough—you should be hydrated while you live it. Go ahead, get hydrated and remember that life is a sport!

Here is a list of other things coconut water can do for

Helps keep the body cool and at the proper temperature.

Translation:Now when you get noticed it’s not ’cause you’re sweaty and gross.

Promotes weight loss.

Translation: You still have to cut back on the fried chicken and hit the treadmill, but we’re there for you to enhance your diet program.

Helps carry nutrients and oxygen to cells and boosts poor circulation.

Translation:See, everyone needs a boost from time to time.

Regulates the function of the intestine, helping promote smoother skin.

Translation: Doing something good for your insides can make you prettier outside! But you still need to wash your face properly, exfoliate and moisturize (don’t forget the SPF).

Helps replenish your body’s fluids after exercising.

Translation:Your body needs plenty of fluids after the gym. Fluids free of barley and hops. Go figure.

Helps detoxify your body and boost your immune system.

Translation:Keeps your immune system tough. Grr. And, yells at viruses to back off. “Back off viruses!”

Helps ease stomach pains.

Translation:Calms your stomach, unlike your in-laws’ chili cookoff.
It was tasty!

I met one of my best friends for lunch at a restaurant called Bakers Best in my town. Its great!! I got a garden salad with balsamic

and a half of a whole wheat tortilla wrap with roasted turkey, lettuce, red onion, sprouts, hummus. A pickle too! This hit the spot!

THey are known for they’re great baked goods! I didn’t get any today, but they did look tempting!

We got manicures!

Its called “yes I can-can” by OPI for all those mani-lovahs

I also made these cookies!

Ingredients
Raw dough

Cookies!!! they are delicious and protein packed! ( I added dried cranberries to them!)

I am off today to look at some places to move out! and then meeting up with Jason, we will probably cook up some dinner!

How WEIRD, I JUST got back from Whole Foods, literally 10 minutes ago, and I bought my first thing of coconut water!! It was the same brand you got form Nicole. I bought it because I felt dehydrated from this darn cold/virus I have, and I figured it would help with all those beneficial electrolytes 😉 I sucked that baby down in no time! It was awesome! I purchased the pomegranate and acai flavor (not for the “entioxidants” but for the extra tastiness!). So far, I’m feeling good 🙂

Love that nail color chicka! My favorite cookie always and forever are peanut butter cookies. No contest. I LOVE coconut water! I used it a couple times for hydration on my training runs when I was gearing up for my half this fall! When it is cold outside I love nothing more than a big cup of tea, my boyfriend who has way too much body heat (he is seriously like a heated blanket, I don’t get it), and a good movie!
