I have to start with a fabulous dinner that Jason and I made last night. We literally spent the whole day relaxing on the couch, I did some blogging, he did some work on his house, we watched the SNOW...Yes SNOWING here yesterday in Boston, which was crazy! But very pretty nonetheless, no doubt I was rocking my new Lulu hat!

2- lookin' good: Chob's mixed with the pumpkin

3-When two become 1: Pumpkin, Chobs, Kashi Go Lean (by they way, Two become 1, amazing spice girls song! Anyone?)

Lunch Time: C'mon as if you don't know me well enough...it was certainly a wrap day!

Josephs Lavash wrap, Dijon, Sabra Hummus, Low sodium turkey, lettuce, tomato, lite havarti cheese

Lite Havarti I picked up from Trader Joes. This cheese is so creamy and melts perfectly!

Slice o' cheese. Its a very decent size too!!

Final Product all grilled up with a side of dijon for dipping! Sorry for the sloppy pic, it twas delish!

Side salad with balsamic Glaze. ..MUCH different than balsamic vinegar. It is thick and sweet and  basically a fancy way of reducing balsamic vinegar. It adds a TON of flavor, very little calories and no fat.

I had an awesome workout with my trainer...He kicked my butt today and i LOVED IT.... We do lots of crazy strength training exercises, he putting my in challenging positions.

We ended with a crazy core exercise.

  • My feet were on the seat of a rowing machine, my hands on  a raised bench.
  • I had to slide the seat of the rowing maching in using my core all while stabalizing my shoulders and entire body.
  • This was an amazing core exercise!
  •  I challenge you to go give it a try!
When I came home I made a great post workout treat!

1/2 C liquid eggwhites, cinnamon, 1/2 scoop BSN cinnamon protein powder,  1/2 banana (slices), dollop of cottage cheese

Method for Naomi's Post Workout High Protein Omelet

  • mix egg whites and protein powder in magic bullet (or by hand) and pour into a skillet
  • cook like an omelet and drop the slices of banana in it, while cooking
  • when side starts bubbling, flip over
  • Fill the inside with cottage cheese (i used a dollop)
  • Flip one side over and eat!

Dinner was great too!

We marinated some salmon in a herb and lemon vinaigrette

Cooked up a spaghetti squash

and made some Kale Chips

Final Product

This was sooo good! I haven't had salmon in a while. It was perfectly cooked in the oven. The trick to making this perfect is putting the oven on broil for the last minute or two. The top gets crispy yet the inside stays perfectly cooked and moist. I love salmon because it is SO heart healthy, packed with omega-3's and selenium, a very good source of protein, niacin and vitamin B12, and a good source of phosphorus, magnesium and vitamin B6.

We usually have a lot of fish during the summer well 1) because it is always so fresh 2) because it is so easy to throw it on the grill. I was so happy to eat this tonight!

Do you have a favorite fish or for that matter have any of you ever been fishing, caught and cooked your own??

Jason's father has a 42 inch fishing boat and this summer we had so much fresh caught Tuna and Halibut-when I say fresh I mean caught about 2 hours prior to eating! YUM!

Have a great night bloggies!

XOXO
Naomi
