Hibachi Dinner and Halloween Flashbacks

First, I want to thank you all for your comments about my frozen meals mishap. I got many responses recommending that I try Amy's organic frozen entrees, especially the lasagna! So I will be trying them out soon! I got some Amy's coupons the other day so I will be using them toward some frozen dinners and of course her delicious soups!

PHEW I am  So happy the weekend has finally arrived! Last night my family (mom, dad, brother, brothers gf, Becca, me and Jason) went to a Japense Hibachi restaurant to celebrate my mom's bday which was on Wednesday. Jason and I have been to this Restaurant before, called Fuji Steak House  in Needham, MA.  This dinner was the most ineractive, fun experience I have had a restaurant in a while! The cookers are so talented, flaming onions, cutting pieces of meat mid air, crazy knife skills that scared me a bit and on top of all of this, the food is SO good, healthy and fresh!

About to make fried rice on the griddle

Rice halfway cooked

LOTS o' rice

Final Fried rice product. It started out as white rice, add in 2 eggs, peas, carrots, soy sauce and you got fried rice! Yes and that is the pod of a little eddamame that got loose!

All the Hibachi orders came with a Salad topped with ginger dressing (SO GOOD!)

and Miso Soup. I do like miso soup once in a while but it is super salty so I can never finish the entire bowl. Japense food always makes me very thirsty!

He lit a tower of Onion's on fire!!

(note: those people who are in the pictures, I do not know, they were the other party that shared the griddle with us. The guy got a lobster, which you can see on there in the shell still.

This is Jason's Plate. He got the Hibachi steak (everything came with veggies and rice)

My plate: I got the chicken and shrimp. The sauce on the veggies and meat was perfect! it was salty but not overkill, and not drenched either. It was just the right amount. THe best part about this is that he plates it as soon as it is cooked so all the food is super hot! one of my biggest pet peeves is ordering a hot dish at a restaurant and having it come out cold!

There are my shrimpies! they came on the plate first because they take very little cooking time! You should have seen this guy butterfly the shrimps! He was basically doing it with his eyes closed!

Lots o' veggies

And that was dinner! It was sooo good! there is something so fun about having food cooked right in front of you!

What is your most exciting restaurant experience?? Was it Habachi, or another fun restaurant like a fondue place? tell me!!

Breakfast this morning

started off with an awesome breakfast  of oatmeal!

1/2 C oats, soymilk & water, blueberries,  2 baby banana's, strawberries, Truvia, cinnamon and PB ( i put the PB on the bottom of the bowl to see what that would be like. Let me tell you, I didn't hate it :) The soymilk make this bowl extra creamy!

Get ready to see the cutest thing in your life...

Baby Banana's!!!

How insane are these guys?? I saw them at Shaw's this morning. They are Dole baby bananas. They were super sweet and so cute!

I had a chance to finally break into my AMazing Grass peanut butter chocolate protein bars I won from Miss Abby at nibblenourishrun (Thanks girl!! Your the best!!)

These bars are

  • Raw

  • Cold Processed

  • Alkaline

  • Gluten Free

  • Dairy Free

  • Vegan

  • Loved it. This was super satisfying and peanutbuttery despite the green superfood color. The only thing I would change about this bar is make it a bit smaller. The entire bar has 14g fat and 270 calories. I only ate half and it did the trick! so I saved the other half for next time! These bars are chewy and fully of flavor. They may just be my new fav go-to snack! 9/10

I also broke into these guys that I got in the sampler pack from Kays Naturals

Kay's Natural Nutty Chips: almond delight flavor.
    calories: 120
    Fat
    3.5g
    carb: 14g
    sugar: 5g
    Protein: 10g

Ingredients: Ingredients: Soy protein isolate, Hazelnut meal, Almond meal, Corn Starch, Evaporated Cane Juice, Tapioca Starch, Rice Flour, Inulin, Canola Oil, Pea Fiber, Salt, Baking Powder, Natural Flavoring.

Little squares of heaven. These were so good! As soon as I cut the package open they smelled like cinnamon toast crunch cereal (one of my fav's as kid, well those and rice krispie treats cereal) These are super sweet and cripsy, filled with a rich almond flavor. I may be in love

(Had to give an ode to my favorite childhood cereal)

    Which was yours??

Kays natural Almond delight's atop plain chobani and pumpkin w/ agave and pumpkin Pie spice...hellloooooo delicious snack. Sad.when.it.was.over.

This really did the trick to fulfill my empty stomach.  Which brings me to an interesting topic about food and hunger. I know for me personally, if I am hungry, not only will I tend to get a small headache, but I can also turn into a nasty, crabby for lack of better word, b-i-t-c-h. Yes I said it, but it is so true and at least I recognize this! I always try to carry a granola bar or bag of nuts on me at all times, so I never come to this point!

Do any of you get edgy when you are super hungry?? How do you handle this when you know food is just not in your near future?

I bring this up beacause today for lunch, Jason and I stopped at a place called "Lamberts" it is a grocery store, but has a deli counter to make wraps, sandwiches and soups and also a huge salad bar. I was craving a great wrap, so this is what I ordered. Little did I know this place is known for their MEAT. real MEAT eaters. Now, I do love my meat, but I also love what I ask for in a wrap. I asked for Turkey, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, spicy mustard, munster cheese.

I come home and the only thing I saw in this wrap was meat. Lots and lots of meat, if I would have to guess I would say about 3 servings? I was peeved beyond belief because (1) I was super hungry (edgy Naomi) and (2) I didn't see any lettuce, tomato or pickle, but did see a few slices of onion. (3) the wrap was drenched in mustard.

I ate half and was just so upset the entire time. Jason even said to me at one point "aren't you going to take a picture for your blog?" and I said "NO, I am too mad to snap a picture"

Needless to say, I didn't snap a pic, and it was a gross wrap. I told him dinner better make up for it tonight!!

I will leave you with a pic of me from halloween my senior year of college.

On the left is ME and right is my friend, Ali. We were 60's Hippies

    Anyways, Off to relax

    Have a great Saturday!
