Happy Monday! How was everyones day? did you have class, school, work, relaxing? Tell me!!
I started out my day with a run on the treadmill. My Mondays are usually my hardest day of working out. I hit the gym twice because I split up my routine for weights and cardio separate. This is an example of a harder workout day for me, but tomorrow is just some light cardio and maybe some yoga. Staying balanced and as always listening to my body is key!

The usual suspects. Oat bran with berries, cinnamon and Naturally More (in the bottom right corner)
After some much need french vanilla coffee and a couple hours of work later
Bosc Pear @ 11:15

I eat my pear right down to the seeds! it was so ripe and juicy, the way I like it (TWSS) sorry, I couldn’t help myself.

Greek yog with cinnamon (and NO, there isn’t an apple cinnamon Chobani flavor but I would love it if they made it one!!)

Salad beast with the last of my chickpea batch. Some tomaters + red onion+ cuke+ romaine+ red pepper
+ brocolli

Slice of burnt (the way I like it!) whole wheat bread
Tofu made in the last of a Chobani container
—After lunch I went to Whole Foods to pick up some goods and look what I came across!

Chicken meatballs-Spinach, fontina and roasted garlic flavor!
great stats! ( a bit high in sodium, but overall great) This is the serving for 4 balls

after unpacking this and some other essentials (almond milk, turkey breast, lots of veggies, Kashi etc) I hit the gym for my trainer. Today he split it in half, lower body then upper body. Crazy workout today! He hit lots of small muscles on the AB and ADductors (inner and outer thigh) and ties core movements into everything! my HRM said I burned 459 cal’s with a Max HR of 166 and average of 118. It was awesome!
The star of my post workout protein shake. Peanut butter chocolate protein Powder!

It is quite good. The thing with flavored protein powder like this is I have to use it sparingly or I will get so sick of it and never want it again, so I only have this about once a week. Needless to say, this tub has lasted a LONG time!

Peanut butter Banana Protein Shake
  • 1 Scoop Isoflex PB chocolate Protein Powder
  • 1/2 Banana
  • 1 C almond milk
  • Ice/water
  • dollop of cottage cheese (and yes this blends so you cannot even taste it!)
New recipe for dinner!
Pumpkin spiced Shake and Bake chicken!

1/2 C oats, ground up

combine with 1/4 Tsp nutmeg, ginger, pumpkin pie spice, salt. 3/4 tsp cinnamon. mix well

Chicken breast, eggwhite, oats mixture=all assembly lined up!

Coat each piece in eggwhite then the oat mixture
Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes (flipping over halfway)
Twas delicious!! such a perfect crunch. They were sweet and salty and a great,  HEALTHY and quick dinner!

She’s just hideous, So hard to look at (umm, is there anyone more beautiful?)

LOVE THIS! I am obsessed with the Gaga right now especially this song and have you seen THIS video of her before she was famous?? Its amazing!! please, please listen to it!
—————–
how is everyone New Years resolution coming along? are you surpassing your goals or have you been so busy that you haven’t had a chance to think about them yet? This week (possibly tonight) I am making the decision on the apartment! This would mean I am moving out of my parents house and moving into thsi apartment on February 1st. I am nervous, excited, anxious and crazy all in one. Much like my fellow PB lover. I never have done well with change. I always do terribly with transitions such as going to college or at the end of college, coming home. Moving will certainly not be an easy thing for me. I know it is important for me to do and move out, and grow some independence, so I am trying to be as positive as I can, thinking of how FUN it will be to live on my own and how great the 2 girls are that I am moving out with! Stay POSITIVE!
  • How do you do with big change? Do you love it, hate it?
  • Have you tried Faux baked chicken before with either Fiber one cereal or oats? (if not, try it!)
  • Do you use protein powder? what is your favorite flavor?
Off to eat this chicken and BED! I have work at 5am. (yay)

Sooooo exciting about the apartment girl!! I also don’t really deal well with change, but heck – it always happens so we HAVE to deal! I’m sure you will make the right decision. At the same time, why do you feel like you NEED to move out? I lived at home, and many people said things like ‘you should live on your own’, etc, but I knew I was a strong, independent person. I really enjoyed living at home, so if you do, don’t feel pressured to move out!! 🙂

  2. greensandjeans says:

So exciting about the apartment! At first, it’s definitely a change living “on your own” but after awhile you will wonder why it took you so long to get there! Of course, I have lived in four places in four years, so I’m definitely down with change!

  3. Abby (Nibble, Nourish, Run) says:

I certainly don’t love change but I seem to handle it pretty well – there is something kind of exciting (and scary!) about it! I know you’ll make the right decision for you!! Oh and I’ve been meaning to try the faux chicken – love the oats idea! Have a great night sweetie! Oh and I want to hear what everyone’s fave protein powder is because I’m still searching for a good one that tastes yummy!

  4. april says:

And is that protein powder worth buying? You know me and my protein powders.. and peanut butter?? That sounds amazing!!

  7. moretolifethanlettuce says:

that’s how i eat my pears/apples too— right down to the core. waste not! i love natalie portman!!! but i agree she looks best when she has a little more meat on her bones (i hate that expression, don’t know why i just used it lol)

  8. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) says:

protein = Sun warrior or Jay Robb. Both in brown rice, both in vanilla or chocolate. Raw, vegan, free from glop and gross ingredients 🙂

Change. Parenthood is the biggest taker out of one’s comfort zone there ever is so i am much better now than i used to be. However moving has never stressed me out. I have lived in 10+ houses and in 6 states in the past 10 yrs. I dont like to move, but i dont fear it. I dont like AZ though. Sigh. Wish I was still in CA 🙂

DVD for yoga. EVeryone asks me this and i have nothing “amazing” to recommend but am working on a post soon bout this.

  9. ktbwood says:

Ahhh change – we can’t grow without it, so I love it! I used to be scared of it until I realized all the good it brings!

I can’t have whey powder (dairy) so I use all the vega products and love them!!

    XXOO

  11. healthhappinesshope says:

I totally agree with you on the Monday feeling… Monday’s just need a little extra motivation! 😉

OMG, Chobani CINNAMON! How cool would that be??? I think we need to write the company about that one.

  12. Karin says:

Yay I finally get your posts on my google reader!
For some reason change doesn’t really scare me. I like exciting new things. The only part of moving that I hate is looking for an apartment. Oh and moving itsself because I live on the 4th floor.
I use some plain protein powder – not a fan of flavoured.

  13. Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg says:

Yep, celebs are definitely getting skinnier and skinnier. Sometimes those pictures just shock me 🙁

That looks like a delicious spice combination for the chicken– yum!

Good luck with all the big changes coming your way!! Change can be scary, but thrilling!

  14. Jil says:

Love, love, love Gaga! The stuff from before she was famous is amazing, and it’s so shocking as to how different she looks! haha The chicken looks delish, and congrats on maybe making the apartment decision! In the past I have not dealt with change well, and still to this day, dealing with the completed unexpected and out of the blue is hard for me…but change is definitely good.

  15. Missy says:

Exiting about your apartment! I don’t do too great with change but it is very necessary sometimes. I’ve made faux baked chicken with fiber one. It was really good!

  16. Mari says:

Ohhh I know that feeling! when you are on your own for the first time…good luck! I am sure you will make the right decisiion

I love protein powder! I always get Chocolate Light Muscle Milk

  17. goodtastehealthyme says:

I’m not usually a big fan of change. It just takes me awhile to adjust. I also don’t like protein powders (well aren’t I being a negative nancy?). I definitely would be interested in trying some baked chicken with oats or fiber one. Sounds yummy.

My resolutions are coming along pretty well though which is nice! Hopefully I keep it up! 🙂

  18. RunToTheFinish says:

I am cracking up about your protein having just read Gena’s blog. 🙂

I think moving is going to be great for you. I moved across the country knowing no one and it was SCARY, but here’s the thing isn’t life about trying new things. How will you know what you love and what works for you if you don’t step out and take the chance.

  19. Tyler says:

ooh those chicken meatballs look good! and so does your baked chicken recipe.

i am also currently obsessed with lady gaga…. i definitely have a bit of a girl crush. plus her songs are great for running playlists! whenever bad romance comes on my i pod, i automatically pick up the pace 🙂

  20. Abby (Abbys Vegan Eats) says:

YAA In finally get updates on my reader, now! Thanks for the link.

Bc im such a creature of habit (which I cant stand and totally wish I wasnt), I hate change. ALTHOUGH I just switched jobs and couldnt be happier (hello massive change). I need to be more open! 🙂

  21. Allie (Live Laugh Eat) says:

I’m terrible with change too and I’ve got the scariest one coming this May since I have NO idea what exactly I’m changing too. It’s usually better when I can anticipate what’s coming but it’s like a black hole right now!

Being in your own apartment should be fun though!! I can’t wait to decorate my own place 🙂

  22. Katie says:

I love the pear on top of your work! That’s how I always eat my snacks…in the middle of a lot of work.

thanks for the good review of the protein powder, I am always looking for good kinds.

  23. Julie says:

ahh we’re thinking so alike right now! change is scary but also a fun scary! like the possibilites are endless and its scary to adapt but i guess the challenge is also always fun 🙂

that baked chicken sounds so good! definitely gotta bookmark that recipe

  24. Jenny says:

aw, sweets.. as you know I am obviously in the same boat as you – and as scary as it is.. I’m trying not to anticipate the situation too much. Sometimes we just have to let life happen, go with the flow, and give change a chance. I know we will both be able to adjust to the new living arrangements girl. We can do this together!!!
