Prep is My Middle Name..

Hey friends! Well, Im back..sorta…still running around busy busy as a bee! I have been in Montreal the past couple of days to visit my family for Passover. You can read about my Passover feast from last year here. Passover food doesn’t change THAT much year to year, but its always fun to get together with friends and family to celebrate and since my cousins, aunt and uncle live in Montreal, we traveled to go spend the holiday with them.  I spent about 3 hours on Saturday (before leaving on Sunday) food prepping, and when I say food prepping, I mean this is food prep that I have never done before. I always usually bring the usuals…nut butter packets, stevia packets, some dry oatmeal and protein powder and maybe even some tuna packets-but this trip…being as I am 11 days out from my show…I did some serious meal prep
  • Loads of veggies (snow peas, green beans, spinach, broccoli
  • Greek yogurt
  • Bagged, cooked quinoa
  • Udos oil
  • Cooked chicken and turkey breast
  • Bagged strawberries and pineapple
  • Cooked and bagged sweet potato
  • Carton of eggwhites
  • Lots of tea bags, stevia, cinnamon, balsamic vinegar, mustard
  • Tuna packets
  • Protein powder packets
What can I say…I like to be prepared
And prepared I was with the hotel fridge! I filled that baby right up! It was perfect…I felt right at home and hit all of my meals!

We had some time to spend the day in downtown Montrael before the big dinner. In the morning, my brothers Fiance, Becca and I grabbed a workout. I remembered I had P90X plyometrics on my iphone…and I was in the mood of being todl what to do, so we set it up and did the video! We acutally set it up in the indoor pool area which was dead empty in the morning with loads of space. Other than the fact that we got some interesting looks when people walked by AND the fact it felt like a hot yoga studio in there, it was a great workout! At the end of the video, I led Becca through a CSF style ab workout.
  • 10 Russian twists
  • 10 Plank Twisters
  • 10 V-up Crunches
  • Repeat 3x
I also added some of my own exercises throughout the plyo workout such as burpees, mountain climbers and Push ups to hit my arms a bit. It was a great hotel workout!

Me and my momma on the streets of downtown Montreal!
Me and Becca!
We stopped at Second Cup for some coffee and to chat and relax.
Oh and there were lots of goodies to oogle at! I had my eye on the muffins!
When lunch time hit, we went to a cute little bar/grill called Dundee’s. It was so quiet because it was a Monday and lunch was around 1:45, so the place was super quiet!
French Heinz!
This was Becca’s lunch which looked SO good!! She got a grilled vegetable sandwich on crusty bread with goat cheese and a salad on the side. YUM it smelled amazing!
I chose the garden salad sans dressing or protein
Added my own turkey meatloaf muffin!
Side of steamed veggies. They were very accomodating and gave me exactly what I asked for. So many times in a restaurant, even AFTER I tell them to just simpy steam the veggies, they still come out covered in butter. These were beautifully steamed and plain
I covered my salad in balsamic vinegar and mustard!

The day was a bit chilly, but lovely. Its amazing how Canada which is only about a 5 hour drive from Boston really does feel like you have traveled across the country to Europe! I wish we had more time to shop around, but there is always next time!

Oh and if you are wondering, I did hit up Lululemon and I found a pair of crop spandex I LOVED, but the tax in Canada is nearly 10% whereas in Massachusetts it is 0%, so It didn’t make any sense for me to get them there!

And let the festivities begin in the evening! We walked into my cousins house to an AMAZING spread of food cooking away. Smells were out of control, I love the holidays! My cousins, aunt and uncle worked so hard to put this all together and we were so happy to spend this time with them
My Cousin, who has her own food blog, Tasty Life even made kale chips!!
The table was beautifully set, and everyhing was amazing, down to even the smallest of details
Including the napkin rings! They were all little ceramic animals
I don’t know why, but I love napkin rings, they really can add so much pizazz to a boring tablescape and make the plates “pop”
Well, I had my baby spinach, turkey and also some broccoli for my dinner. I didn’t get to enjoy all of the delicious food, but its okay there is always next year…I am 11 days out from my show and I have come so far, I am not screwing up with one night of ‘letting myself go’ I am focused, ready, nervous, anxious and so freakin excited!

I have about 10x the amount of these crystals…lots of rhinstone glue and a suit that needs some blinging, so I am out for the night!

I wanted to give you all an update and hope to come back this week with more!

Love to you all!!

Question of the day: Do you prep yourself for travel? Are there always some “go to” items you bring (doesn’t have to be food related!) I always bring some food as I mentioned, and also like to ensure I have plenty of body lotion and my own shower gel!

Now wake up and move to this!
