Just Be Happy

25 is a tough age. In some ways it can be the best times that you will have in your entire life. Fun, freedom, “work hard, play hard” type time in your life. Trust me,  I am fully enjoying my mid-twenties these days, meeting new people, being out and about, experiencing, living spontaneously….I would say I am just having the time of my life this summer! I love going out and seeing the streets of Boston flooded with young people all around, smiling, laughing enjoying the weather and enjoying their life
On the other side of the spectrum,  there’s the scarier part of being 25. The part that doesn’t exactly know what you want to do or be when you ‘grow up’ Everything is so exciting and fun and at the same time it can scary and unknown and anxiety provoking. I tend to always get myself wrapped up thinking about the future. Well if I don’t have it now, when will I have it? Do I know what I want to be when I grow up? No. Do I know where I see myself in 5 years? No. And I have come to the conclusion that that is OK. It did take me a little while to be OK knowing that my future is ‘unknown’ but I let some things get in the way that prevented me from finally realizing I am happy. I don’t have a life plan written out; I have never and will never one of those people with a 5 year plan. I work hard, I know what I want and I know I will get there.  Staying happy while staying on the right track toward a successful future is where I am at right now.
Yes, I have goals, I ultimately have an idea of what I want to do/be when I grow up, but like I mentioned earlier,  I finally have come to the terms that is OK not to know 100% at this time in my life. Right now is the time for me to be happy. I want to be happy at work, in my life, with my family and friends that mean the world to me. I want to take some time to explore and experience and just be 25.
I am writing this because I know I have been reading some blogs and also have some followers and friends who I know feel the same way.  Causing your body unneeded stress is not good for many reasons; it can disrupt sleep patterns, increase or decrease appetite, cause you to lose or gain weight and most of all turn you into a worry prone person.  We should be embracing the fact that we are young and have the world at our fingertips. The options in our lives are endless and to be happy you have to choose the best path to get there that works for you. NEVER succumb to what someone else believes or wants and NEVER put yourself down because you think you aren’t doing enough. Trust me, you are. I truly believe that if you want something bad enough in life…you will get it. You just have to make it happen and not let anyone get in your way on your journey to get there.

Life is too short to be anything but happy.

People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness.  Just because they’re not on your road doesn’t mean they’ve gotten lost.  ~H. Jackson Browne

What makes you happy? goal oriented? Focused?
