12 hours of sleep make me a happy Girl!!

So today I absolutely freaked out and got up at 9:45am!! I couldn’t believe it! my work schedule is as follows

Monday 5am-1pm
Tuesday 5am-1pm
Wednesday: 11:30pm-8pm
Thursday: 1130-8pm
Friday: me and my manager alternate

So with this said, I had two days of getting up at 4:15 am under my belt, and Wednesdays are usually my sleep in day-to me sleep in means I get up around 8:30 ish. My inner clock usually gets up around then. But when I rolled over at looked at my phone that it was 9:45! I shot outta bed and ran to my mom’s room (She was getting ready for the day) and I asked her if it really was that time….she  told me it was and then I relaxed and realized, I had no where important to be! i guess it just amazed me that I slept that late! I guess my body really needed it!

I did give myself enough time to make a great bowl of oats!

1/2 C oats, blueberries, strawberries, 1/2 banana, truvia, Lots of cinnamon!

With side of crunchy PB (sorry for the blurry picture!)

I grabbed a starbucks grande coffee on my way to work (added soymilk, cinnamon and truvia) this was great! I really needed a pick-me-up even though I slept for about 12 hours!

Lunch time was a wrap (I mean, I am sure you all could’ve guessed this one!) Usually I have a snack in between breakfast and lunch (smoothie) but today, since I ate breakfast at 10:15 I didn’t need the snack in between

Josephs Wrap with tomatoes, romaine, turkey, low fat Havarti cheese, Cranberry Chutney

A short time after lunch, I grabbed a workout in. I started with 20 minutes on the spin bike. One of our members who I am very friendly with came in to workout at the same time as when I started so I put him through a mini spin workout, which was great for both of us because it made the time FLY by. Then I decided to do his workout that I created for him!

  • 1 arm cable backrows
  • clean and presses (doing a full squat)
  • Burpees
  • Lying tricep extension
  • rear delt/lat raise combo
  • walking lunges with body bar
I tried this bar that I grabbed in the cafeteria at work. I had never tried it before but the wrapper looked appealing to me.

Nugo Free . Gluten Free soy and diary free. This flavor was Dark Chocolate Trail Mix.
Blazing a new trail in allergen free snacking. Dark Chocolate Trail Mix has all of your favorite mix, including Dark Chocolate, Cranberries, Pumkin Seeds, and Almonds. NuGO FREE bars are all gluten, soy, and dairy free, and are certified OU Pareve. You are now free to snack!

NGREDIENTS: RICE PROTEIN CRISP (RICE PROTEIN CONCENTRATE AND RICE FLOUR), CRISP RICE (RICE FLOUR), SEMI SWEET DARK CHOCOLATE (SUGAR, UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE, COCOA BUTTER), CRYSTALLINE FRUCTOSE, ALMONDS, TAPIOCA SYRUP, BROWN RICE SYRUP, ORGANIC AGAVE SYRUP, CHICORY ROOT FIBER, CRANBERRIES (SUGAR), RICE PROTEIN, PUMPKIN SEEDS, FLAXSEED, WATER, ORGANIC ACACIA GUM, FLAXSEED OIL, NATURAL FLAVORS, BAKING SODA (SODIUM BICARBONATE), SALT, WALNUTS.

It was really tasty! It had light crispies and real chunks of dark chocolate. I love bars that combine sweet and salty flavors. There were also pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries (FAV!) This bar was really tasty! I would certainly get it again! I also saw they had a carrot cake flavor!! The only downside to these bars is I don’t recognize some of the ingredients, like crystalized fructose?

Snack  A little bit later on

Pumpkin and plain chobani mixed with Kashi Go-Lean…I don’t think I will ever get sick of this combo…ever…is that normal?

**Is there a food combo that you will NEVER get sick of??**

I am seriously getting in the mindset for Costa Rica. I am going with my family (brother, his GF, Jason and my parents) Next wednesday for 5 days for my Cousins wedding. My whole mom’s side of the family lives there. My uncle owns a coffee company called Cafe Britt. They not only make coffee, but gourmet liquor, candy and touristy products such as t-shits, aprons, mugs and so on…check out the website it is AMAZING coffee

Anyways, between Jason, my brother and his girlfriend, Becca, we have to come together and get them a wedding gift and have NO idea what to get! it has to be something we can bring with us on the plane (so not big as we are not checking bags) and we want it to be something creative. I was thinking this photo frame that can store up to 100 pictures from Brookstone and its travel friendly, so they can store pics from the wedding and bring it with them places!

Any other Ideas?? throw them at me!!!

I also forgot to mention the other day that I roasted a Pumpkin!! It was my first go at roasting it! I think I did a pretty good job!

Pumpkins all ready to be roasted!!
( I have no pic of post roasted, sorry!!)

seeds that I did roast with some kosher salt…they were delish!

Alright bloggies…time for bed for this gal (even though I am not very tired due to 12 hours of sleep under my belt!)

Still haven’t gotten my GOOGLE READER ISSUES figured out, so if anyone knows anything about this, hollllllaaa atcha girl

I will be up before work to go for a spin class at 9:30

XOXO

Naomi

That is the worst feeling when you look at the clock and think you are so late! I give you props for waking up at 4:15 in the morning! What time do you go to bed usually??

Love the pumpkin yogurt combo! I never get sick of yogurt with baked apples and chocolate chips! I just ate that 10 minutes ago actually!

Have a great time in Costa Rica! I was there once and it was beautiful!

  2. Sophia says:

Oh my God. I hate it when I wake up too late…that is the WORST feeling ever. I actually did that on MOnday. I have class at 9am, but I woke up at 9:13! Needless to say, I missed it!

  3. Shannon says:

I hate that moment of panic when I realize I overslept. I’m glad you got a good night’s sleep though.

I have never roasted a pumpkin. What are you going to do with it now??

Ugghh – I have sooo many combos – probably have to go with the classic PB & J. Or veggies and spaghetti sauce/salsa?!

Nice eats! Great job on the getting up early 🙂

I can’t get enough of vanilla chobani mixed with GoLean Crunch. I ate it twice yesterday! So good!

I think a great gift is one of those digital frames that changes pictures. I’m not sure if that’s big enough for what you have in mind though.

I have no idea how you go from waking up at 4:15 to sleeping late! I can never sleep late unless I get into a rhythm. So jealous of your trip to Costa Rica, that is going to be AWESOME!

  10. Katie says:

I get the WORST anxiety when I think I have overslept…glad you got caught up.

Also, I’m so glad for the bar review…I adore dried cranberries (and pumpkin seeds!) so it sounds like a win-win to me! (except for the weird stuff)

  11. Melissa says:

I’ve only used truvia once (you might’ve left one of the comments recommending it) but I like it already. My coffee was sweetened but seemed to have a more legit flavor.
