BACK-Sort of…

Check out my guest post on K’s Blog!! (Thank you girl! <3 you!) http://ksgoodeats.wordpress.com/2010/01/28/baby-by-me/

Hi Everyone!! Thank you so much for hanging in there with me through this weekend! It went by so fast and I am all moved into my new apartment! It is so great and I finally feel settled. It was a bit wierd sleeping in a new place and new bed last night but I think I slept well! I got up extra early (410 instead of 4:18 LOL) because I had a new commute. The commute ended up being SHORTER than my old one! I got to work at 4:45 so I sat in the car for a few minutes to stay warm. That means tomorrow I get those extra 8 minutes back! (hey, that early in the morning, every minute counts!!)

I have not taken any pictures of my new set up yet, but no worries, those are to come. My pictures have also been sporadic, but I have a few from the weekend. I let my camera cord at my parents house which I will pick up on Tuesday after work. I had to change gyms too, which is sad in some ways but also awesome in some ways because my new gym is about 10 feet away from my apartment so I can walk there in literally 30 seconds. The downside is that they have no 9am spin classes which I used to take before work on the days I start at 11:30am. The room is always open though and I can give myself a kick in the butt!!

Oats on Friday Morning.

1/2 C with chia and frozen berries and some Naturally More PB (more on bottom) I think there were 2 eggwhites in here as well
Sun Warrior Protein Shake to-go.
1 scoop SW Protein (vanilla)
1 C skim milk
ice/water
PB2, Truvia
Dollop Cottage cheese
Lunch Friday-Whole Wheat pita with stone ground mustard, turkey breast, tomaters, red onion, sabra and baby spinach TO-GO!
Kays protein Bites with plain Chobani. DELISH! This has to be one of my favorite go-to snacks.
Huge Jass with cauliflower, baby romaine, sprouts, tomaters, black beans, homemade dressing! (grilled chicken on the side for PROTEINNN)
Saturday Morning Berry berry oats at Jason’s house. There was 1/2 banana in here as well and TONS of cinnamon!
Vanilla Chobs with Kashi Go-Lean twigs.

THE BIG MOVE ON SATURDAY!!! Saturday Night I went out to dinner with My parents and Jasons parents at a restaurant in Milton, Ma called “Abby Park” it was AMAZING. the best restaurant I have been to in a LONG time. I didn’t take any pics though! (sorry!!!) I got Diver Sea Scallops which were served over speghetti squash and spinach and garnished with a creme fraish sauce. OH EM GEE. Heavenly!!!
Sunday, I went to the gym for some cardio because I was itching to get in some exercise. Jason and I made Whole Foods Salads for lunch
Peas, carrots, tomaters, strawberries, eggwhites, tuna, brocolli, lettuce, salmon salad. I dressed it with some balsamic vinegar.
Cottage cheese with sliced Fuji and Kays Protein Bites-ho hum booorrringggg. Sorry for being a lame-o foodie this weekend. It was just crazy and My camera wasn’t attached to my hip like it normally is. I will get my groove back soon enough!!!
  • Today, work at 5am (by the way many of you asked me how I get up for this hour. well 1. I have no choice. This is when our corporate gym opens and I must be here. 2. I have been doing it fro about a year now and SO used to it!! 3. I am IN BED by 9pm. there ya have it! if you ever need motivation for getting up early…you know who to ask!)
  • I have a training session with my trainer at 3:15pm. (already did some cardio this morning on the treadmill and spin bike ~40 minutes)
  • Cooking some dinnah and organizing my new room!!
——————————
  • Did you try any new foods this weekend you want to share?? I tried siggi’s yogurt in Acai flavor. It was SO thick and creamy. The flavor was OK, not great, very bitter when I was expecting more sweet. They were onsale for 2 dollars so I treated myself!
  • Plans for Valentines day? Hate it? Love it? I am mixed with valentines day. This is the first year I have a serious Boyfriend. We will be in Canada with his family so who knows!
  • Favorite part of the grammy’s last night? LOVED Lady Gaga’s performance!
PEACE AND LOVE

Glad your move went well! That is great that your gym is so close! New foods I tried…mushroom brushetta! V-Day…hmm don’t love it but will probably just go to dinner or something! I loved seeing Eminem at the end! I miss him!

  2. MelissaNibbles says:

I’m glad the move went well. I think you should offer to teach a 9am spin class there 😉

Abbey Park has a coupon on groupon.com today!

I only watched the opening of the Grammys, so I guess that was my fave part. I’m not really a Valentine’s person. I think if you set it up to be this great, romantic day in your mind, you’ll just be let down.

  3. Jessica says:

Glad you are all settled in. I just got some Sun Warrior protein in chocolate. Do you like it alot? I don’t usually like vanilla protein powder so I am hoping the chocolate is good!

  4. Julie says:

duuuuuude 8 minutes makes a difference! umm i’m about to consider changing gyms too! it’s stressful to change the schedule but it’s also fun ya know 🙂 i totally understand about the classes not working out to your schedule! i feel ya on that but how about i come there and we’ll make our own spin class together haha.

glad you’re safe and sound in YOUR NEW APARTMEEEEEEEEEEEEENT!! now you can have LOTS of parties woop woop

  5. Karin says:

Good to hear that everything went well! It’s so weird to wake up in a “new” appartment but I got used to it pretty quickly.
I feel quite “neutral” about Valentines DAy and don’t really care that much about it. 😉

  6. MelindaRD says:

Glad you are getting settled. now you can really start to feel like an adult. It is cheap to live at home for as long as possible, but sometimes you really need your space no matter how much you love and get along with your parents.

I love valentine’s day, but I like any excuse I can buy people gifts and get gifts too. Plus this is my first year married for Valentine’s day.

  7. savoringsarah says:

YAY for the new place!!! SO exciting!!!! No new foods this weekend…but tried a new class at my gym! No plans for V-Day…I will probably just make the boyfriend a nice dinner 🙂

  8. Erica says:

Hooray for the new place! That is super exciting. I cannot wait to see the pictures. Glad the new gym is so close by- how exciting! I teach at 5:45 AM on Mondays and Fridays and get up around 4:30 so I can get there early and get a quick run in before each class…totally hear you on each minute counts at that hour ;). I love it though! I feel like I’m really utilizing the day. Lots of yummy eats- love the great yogurt mixes and that WFs salad looks out of this world

  9. Julie says:

    Congrats on a successful move!!

I think Valentines day is silly…I don’t need a reminder from Hallmark to tell the ones I love that I love them. And I don’t need to say it with candy or flowers either. 🙂

  10. moretolifethanlettuce says:

    Have a great Monday!

  12. Melissa says:

Gaga was the high point of my Grammy watching last night too.

Enjoy your destination Valentine’s Day. I’ll be away too…but instead of going to our neighbor to the North, I’m heading south and going to Mexico.

  13. peaceluvmunchies says:

Glad the move went well! and yay for getting those minutes back!! I hear ya — every single minute counts haha. I loved Gaga’s performance, and Beyonce’s too – that woman’s got pippppes. haha

  14. Gina says:

Hey Naomi! Thanks for your comments about my hair. Yes, it’s usually curly, but I’ve been straightening it lately because it’s just easier I guess.

I’m glad you’re loving your new apartment, and you’re all settled in, I bet that feels really nice.

As for new products, hmm, I ate at a new restaurant, does that count? It was the sushi restaurant I blogged about and it was fantastic! Well, the sushi was, my parent’s food wasn’t so great. Haha, that’s what they get for not ordering sushi at a sushi restaurant!

    Have a great day 🙂

P.S Lady Gaga’s outfit was…interesting. I saw it on the TODAY show and was trying to imagine how she sat down!

  15. Sunny says:

Best part of the Grammy’s for me? Pink!

  18. KacySue says:

Yay for the move being over and being closer to work. That’s exciting!

Not a fan of V-day. Not so much because I’m single, but just the hype around it seems a bit over the top.

  19. Emily says:

I think your eats look anything but ho-hum! Especially for a moving weekend!

I missed the Lady Gaga performance and was so bummed. I did see some clips on NECN this morning though – it looked amazing. 🙂

  20. homecookedem says:

I didn’t watch the grammy’s. I need to look up Lady Gaga’s performance on youtube!

  21. hersweetcheeks says:

I’m excited for Valentines because of Janetha’s secret bloggie valentine exchange, heheh!

Lady GaGa rocked it at the awards..love it!

Good luck with your new apartment. Can’t wait to see pics of everything!

  22. Gelareh @ Nutritious Foodie says:

Glad the move went well… moving is not much of fun.

I don’t like V-day, when my husband and I were dating he would make a big deal out of it and really spoil me, but once we got engaged and married I told him that V-day doesn’t really mean much to me so we just take turns cooking a 4 course meal for each other… but this year we plan on cooking together 🙂

  23. tam says:

Glad to hear your getting things sorted, I made some adzuki bean burgers which were fab!

Another valentine day single 🙁 I think I’ll see my sister as her hubby doesn’t do valentines! x x

This weekend was the first time I finally tried TAHINI, and I absolutely obsessed! I got it on Saturday and I’m already halfway through the jar :X

As far as Valentine’s Day goes, I’m ehhh okay about it. I’m not a fan of the typical Valentine’s Day dates. I’d rather stay in with my hunnie or best friends and get Chinese takeout =)

  26. Katie ♥ says:

  27. inmytummy says:

I haven’t had that flavor of Siggi’s but I was impressed with how thick whatever flavor I did have was.

I’m just sort of eh on Valentine’s Day. We normally end up getting Chinese takeout. It’s actually sort of become a nice tradition.

  28. Jenny says:

oh lovepie you have been so missed 🙂 welcome back! I’m glad your getting settled in and such and I can’t wait to see pictures of the new place!

I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll get to spend V-day with Gingie!

  29. simplyshaka says:

I haven’t tried it yet but bought some tempeh this wknd and am stoked to try it!

V-Day can suck it! 🙂 I am spending this yr all alone (well man wise but I have my dog Lincoln) but after last yr with my boyfriend at the time telling me he was still in love with his ex while watching “From G’s to Gents” on Valentines Day night…..um…yeah. Taking a break from that and will be treating myself to a mani.pedi and nice lunch or dinner.

I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the Bachelor! Check out the game I want to make.

  30. chrystad72 says:

congrats on the move hon! Thats so fun. New foods? hhmm not really..ha! I had a comfort food kinda weekend. All good stuff though! Im mixed on vday too. I could either take it or leave it. I have no idea what the hubs and i are doing. Probably will just be low key. Have an awesome night!!

  31. J says:

You are definitly an inspiration to wake up earlier! Good luck with the move. I hate the stress of moving (I suppose we all do) but I love the “new start” part of moving

  32. Adrien says:

Canada sounds like the best time ever! I may be biased, but what can you do?!

Where abouts are you two headed? And, on a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you love pb2?

congrats on getting all moved into the new apartment!

“It is so great and I finally feel settled.”–there is no better feeling than that!!!!!!!!!

I love that you’re into the sun warrior vanilla protein, love that stuff. It works in anything from oats to un-baked goods to shakes to whatever, i love it. and the choc too of course 🙂

V-Day. We have a 3 yr old. No crying at the dinner table is our idea of romance.

  35. Kelly says:

Glad you made it through the move! That’s really awesome that your gym is so close! I really wish mine was closer. I like Valentine’s Day a lot, but I never do anything big- this year we are going to be on a plane to Arizona so that is exciting enough for me 🙂

  36. fitinthecity says:

Congrats on the move! Yesterday I tried Amazing Grass Berry Flavor in my smoothie and loved it. I also made a new dish for dinner, Ginger-Peanut Chicken Wrap…..it was a hit!

  37. glidingcalm says:

first of all, thank you for your adorable comment on my blog! so glad you are enjoying my India posts!!! I really hope people think they are interesting!!

secondly, AWESOME EATS!! you are making me hungry and that is bad because I am in India and without a fridge/much food!

    WF hot bar yayo!

as for V-day, normally i hate it, but this year is my first with a serious bf too…..unfortunately he will be in Europe, and I will be in India so that = nothing special. Havent really ever had a special V-day for that matter…….i guess there is always next year!

  38. Abby (Nibble, Nourish, Run) says:

Yay for the move! SO glad it went well…!

I agree with ya about the siggi’s – something’s just a little funky about some of their flavors…!

Cooking on Valentine’s Day – so much more fun that paying an arm and a leg to eat some cheesy price fix menu somewhere…!! Have fun in Canada!!

  39. Dawn Dishes It Out says:

Naomi, thanks for the comment on my blog!! This is my first time reading yours … I like it!! As for V’day, we sort of lay low. My girls and I make heart shaped everything & my hubby usually sends flowers for me & the girls (who are 2 & 4). It’s adorable.

  40. Jocelyn says:

Hey girl! Glad the move went well 🙂 Where are you gonna be in Canada! I live in Canada! 🙂 I’m not sure what I’m up to yet for vday…I do love it…hopefully my boyfriend will be here during that time!

Your meals look healthy and super delish as always…

girl, you are ALWAYS invited over when we eat eggs and tofu. which is like almost daily. =D
banana bread IS SO GOOD! microwave that and it tastes like a piece straight from the oven!
    check back for your answer!

  42. feetinmotion says:

Lol the hill entertains me as well. And yesterday I actually was able to book up it without feeling too winded! I always try to take it fast to get it over with. 🙂

I’m actually excited for Valentine’s Day this year. It’s actually my one year anniversary with my boyfriend so really it’s a two in one. He claims that was not on purpose though and that I’ll get double the gifts haha. It was actually our first date together so I guess it wasn’t planned out lol.
