IM BACK! Spin Playlist & loads more!

HI! remember me? its been a while, I took a little technology break for a few days and as much as I missed you, it did feel nice to not sit at my computer screen for a while, especially since the weather was 60’s and sunny this weekend in Boston!

I made a smoooothie with Jay Robb chocolate rice protein powder which tasted JUST like Sun warrior it was delish!

Friday lunch

I tried gingerberry Kombucha and loved this flavor! its crazy how this stuff really does suppress my appetite, I don’t drink it for that reason, but I had this over the course of 3 hours and it really just curbed some extra munchie cravings I usually have. Friday afternoon I went shopping with my mom and got some great stuff including some Lulu gear and cute stuff from JCrew. Pics of that will be on another post 🙂

Friday for Dinner, Jason and I cooked! I made a delicious salad with dried cranberries, red pepper, strawberries and cuke

Roasted yukon and sweet potato with roasted broccoli and cauliflower (40 degrees for 30 minutes with olive oil and salt and pepper)

Jason grilled up some steak tips we got pre marinated at whole foods. These were super disappointing! so chewy and not good at all. This was our 2nd time getting the pre marinated steak tips and have them be just ‘so-so’ I think next time we will buy the steak and marinate ourselves.

THe BEST part of dinner was the dessert 🙂 I got a twist TCBY yogurt! (topped with frozen blueberries!)

Saturday morning I started with some French Press coffee.

Turn to the side, in true Kath fashion…turn to the side it looks like a person!
Stove top oats with cinnamon about to be mixed in

1/2 C oats cooked in water with frozen raspberries, 1 eggwhite, lots of cinnamon and PB

It was AWESOME! I love teaching spin class. Even if 2 people showed up I would have the best time. I love having high energy and passing that along to my class. I love the sweat, hard work and effort that goes into it and I had the best time!
Post workout Snackage. 1/2 C Cottage cheese with 1/2 scoop protein powder. Barbara shredded wheat (new favorite cereal! it tastes like Life!)

Lunch was an awesome grilled veggie salad that I got from a restaurant across the street from my apartment. It had grilled zucchini, broccoli, tomato and green pepper over mixed greens! I also had a Josephs wrap with hummus and turkey breast (unpictured!)
Saturday night Jason and I went to dinner with my parents, my brother and his girlfriend. We went to one of my FAVORITE resturants in Boston called “sweet Basil” I actually have it featured in my “Boston Fav’s” page which is on the right side column. You can read about it here

We started with 4 appetizers. This was a goat cheese and roasted beet salad with dried apricots over baby greens and sprinkled with fresh parm

Greek salad with yellow pepper, fresh creamy feta, beefsteak tomato, red onion, european cukes and homemade crotons

Ceaser salad with those amazing homemade croutons!

4 HUGE mushroom dumplings. These were crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside filled with LOADS of fresh mushroom.

I got the chicken piccata as my entree. This is lightly breaded chicken breast (2 acutally) served in a lemony, light sauce with tons of spinach and capers!

I got roasted veggies (blurry ones, sorry!) instead of the pasta it came with because I knew I would be eating those fried dumplings. Its all about balance!

My dad got the prettiest dish! it was beet noodles! they were homemade noodles with beet mixed into the pasta dough. This was packed with roasted veggies, parm cheese and eddamame! (sounds wierd, but it worked!)

Jason got the ahi tuna with broccoli rabe and sweet potato mash. This was SO good!!

Sweet Basil takes no reservations and is cash only. It is a tiny little place that boasts the largest line!! The amazing thing at this restaurant is that it is BYOB (bring your own alcohol!) so it is very affordable. No entree is over 20 bucks and the portions are HUGE. This is the quaint little kitchen!

Sunday, Jason and I woke up and had some breakfast I didn’t snap a shot because you all know what my oatmeal looks like, right? We took a trip to the Wrentham Outlets. This place was INSANE! mostly because it was 60 degrees out. I go here not so often because its a little ways away but its so fun! Jason made out much better than me! I will post the pics of my goods in another post!

Afterwards we stopped at Panera for a late lunch. I got the you choose two Chicken apple fuji salad and smoked turkey breast on whole grain bread with mustard, lettuce and tomato. I got the apple on the side. I really love Panera!

For dinner, we kept it light since we had a late lunch. I heated up some of this Wild Harvest vegetable soup. It was pretty good! a bit salty, but good!

I cooked up 1 egg and 1 eggwhite

I made a quesadilla with the 2 eggs and some mexican style shredded cheese on a high fiber tortilla

It was melty and SO good! Jason liked my dinner better than his 🙂

Breakfast this morning was 1/3 C oatbran with frozen berries mixed at the end, chia, cinnamon and PB

Our cafeteria features some healthy living tips and today they were giving away free sample spices! You better believe I took some! and probably will take more tomorrow! Smoked Paprika and pepper supreme.

I had a plain Chobani and some Kays cereal at around 11:30.

My ride home from work was SO beautiful! there were so many runners along the Charles River.

Lunch was a turkey sammie on whole grain bread (toasted!) with Sabra, 1 LC wedge, sprouts, romaine and turkey breast. SO good! I also had a side salad
I am headed to the gym in a few to meet with my trainer! I can’t wait. Im ready for some weight training!!
