Middle Eastern Feast & New Nikes!

So I had a very interesting dinner experience yesterday, well acutally it was a  DELICIOUS dinner experience but one that was not expected. Let me explain…

Jason was going to pick me up and we were going to City Sports for him to get a new heart rate monitor. Afterwards we were going to meet one of his friends for dinner, and we decided to pick a quick cafe right across the street at Angora Cafe. As soon as we walked inside, they both looked at eachother and decided they were craving mexican food. There happen to be a fast food mexican place, called Boca Grande close by, but I did not want this, so I got a wrap at Angora and was going to bring it to Boca Grande to eat with them.

Oh by the way, the wrap was ENORMOUS

As we walked to Boca grande we passed a restaurant called “Jersusalem Pita” as soon as we all walked by, they quickly switched their craving to israeli food, as did I. I knew if we walked into Jersuselem PIta, this is what I was getting for dinner. I grew up eating this food, since my father is from Israel. I love it and crave it, so I decided to keep my already purchased wrap for tonights dinner! Quick Foodie thinking right there…

we strated with complimentary pickled veggies. This was an array of beets, carrots, olives and cabbage. I loved this tasting plate because it wasn’t as salty as normal pickled vegetables. It was So good!
We started with hummus as an appetizer. It came sprinkled with olive oil, paprika and parsely. So traditonal and so good! I felt like I was in Isreal again!

Did I mention that the pita bread is home made, served HOT and so incredibly doughy?
And did I mention that I got that same pita as my dinner! This was the grilled chicken pita. It came with hummus, tahini sauce, cucumbers, tomatoes and tender white meat grilled chicken. I devoured.

Jasons friend got the “Laffee” which had a more doughy, wrap like texture but was thick like a gyro. He got the chicken kebab inside which was the dark meat chicken. This thing was ginourmous as well!
This was the hottest sauce I have ever had in my life, as far as I can remember!
The meal was amazing!! I was so happy with my dinner choice!
Today started out amazingly because I had breakfast in my PJ’s! I woke up at 8:30 and was so refreshed! I started work at 11:30 so I was in no rush this morning!

I cooked up a bowl of oats but inspired by the amazingly wonderful, Julie, I added wheat bran to the mix! I did 1/4 C oatbran and 1/4 C wheat bran with 2 eggwhites (added towards the end) and frozen berries added toward the end. The whole shebang was topped with cinnamon and Naturally More

My new Nikes came in the mail! I got these the other day. They are the new Lunar Elite +. I love these shoes! I have amazing Brooks, but those are purely my running shoes. I don’t like to wear them for my cross training/weight training and since I wear sneaker EVERYDAY since I am a trainer, I could justify getting myself these 🙂

Lunch was, yes you guessed it, a wrap! This guy had hummus, romaine, turkey breast, sprouts and fresh basil! it tasted like turkey pesto wrap! so delicious!

Post spin snackage. I taught spin class at work tonight at 5:45 so I ate this around 4 so I had some time to digest. This was 1/4 C oats, with some frozen berries added at the end. Topped with 1 6oz Chobani and cinnamonnnn (lots!)
Post spin (which was awesome!) HRM calculated 604 calories burned with a max HR of 177! I enjoyed my wrap from last night. It was grilled veggies with hummus and grilled chicken. This was SO GOOD! I loved the chargrilled veggies in here especially the brocolli!

Finished in 5 minutes flat.
