The Cereal Diet

LOVES! how is everyone? How was everyones weekend? I would be lying if I said I had an amazing weekend, as some of you saw, I had a case of the 24 hour stomach bug that seem to have lasted a bit more than 24 hours. I think its safe to say that Friday night was one of the worst nights I have experience in a long time. If you know me and know me well (friends, family, boyf) You know that I have a fear of Vomit. Otherwise known as Emetophobia-yes this is a real term!

I have a deep seeded fear of it, hearing it, doing it everything surrounding it. I have trouble even watching scenes in movies that have vomiting in it. When I get sick to the point that vomiting happens? yeah, its pretty bad. My parents almost didn’t believe me that it happened! I basically spent the whole Friday night tossing, turning, sweating, vomiting and in pain. It was not pretty. I woke up the next morning knowing I would have to teach my spin class at 11 am. I couldn’t just not show up and it was too late to call in. I did make it through the class, but during the stretching/cool down, I booked it for the bathroom, fun times, no? I hope it was a good class, none the less…

Later in the day, Saturday, I did feel OK enough to to help Jason pick up his motorcycle and go for a ride since it was 72 degrees on Saturday in Boston!

Jason getting ready to ride

Naomi getting ready to ride!!

In my snazzy new kicks!

We both were sporting our new Nikes!
we saw the funniest license plate, I had to snap a pic! (yes I keep my camera in my pocket, just in case)
The riding was amazing on Saturday! It was 72 degrees out, sunny and perfect! We went downtown Boston to the Charlestown Navy yard and walked around by the pier overlooking the Boston Harbor. Perfection!

Beautiful Boston day!

The Navy Yard
Saturday night, I was exhausted. I took a nap from 5-7pm. Then woke up to eat something because I really had no appetite. The only thing that sounded somewhat appealing was cereal. No, not the fiber, whole grain, healthy kind. I am talking about the empty, plain, delicious kid cereals. The kind that bring me right back to my childhood!

Enter please, KIX AND RICE KRISIPIES! Oh how I love that snap, crackle and pop!
Two of my Favorite childhood cereals! I LOVED Kix. Kix and Berry berry Kix stole my heart, but I always loved Rice Krispies too! This made for the perfect ‘stomach bug’ dinner. Hey, its kid tested, mother approved, we know its delicious!

Hit. The. Spot. Well, as much as it could have! That night I went to bed at 9pm. Yes, 9pm on Saturday night. This girl needed it bad! I woke up at 9 on Sunday–12 solid hours!

When I started realizing I needed something to eat, I turned to 1 slice of whole wheat bread with 1 egg and 1 egg white.

This was good!

Second course was another bowl of Kix and Rice Krisipies with some raisins and banana. This was too much, I couldn’t finish the whole bowl, but wow, I realized how much I love cereal!

We took the bike out again yesterday to one of our favorite spots, Helens in Concord, Ma

I still was not 100% so I kept it simple with chicken noodle soup and crackers

Grilled cheese on Sourdough!! (again, if you know me, you know that i would NEVER order grilled cheese at a restaurant, its just something I would rather make myself!)This is one of the only things that seemed appealing to me on the menu This was one of the best grilled cheeses I ever had in my LIFE. The bread was lightly toasted with butter and it was crispy, hot and delicious! (coleslaw was for Jason)

Cheesy goodness
Tazo sweet orange tea. Such a good flavor!
This morning I was feeling better, not 100% but I can tell that this thing is slowly leaving my body. My appetite is still not 100% though.

For breakfast I had half Shredded Spoonfuls, half Kashi Heart 2 Heart with 1/2 banana, raisins, skim milk and strawberry Yoplait

Theres the Strawberry Yogurt!

my eyes were tired, so I sported the glasses to work

Lunch. Is this a surprise? Cereal. 1/2 Honey Sunshine and half Shredded spoonfuls with almond milk
PB and J on a Deli flat. A little over burned, but still tasty!

Currently I am just hanging at my apartment with my roomie, I am going to try to go to the gym in a little and see what I can get done. I don’t have a whole lot of energy because my eating is way off, but we’ll see. I usually see my trainer today, but I rescheduled, because I knew I couldn’t give 100% today, so I didn’t want to waste his time, my time or my money!  This week should just fly by and next week is my birthday! (March 31st!) I turn the big 2-4!!  Thank you all so much again for your get well wishes! I love all of you!!
