Better luck next time…

Hey loves! yes yes yes its my BIRTHDAY! exciting day for me. Well actually I have made it exciting. In the past, I have this ongoing birthday blues type attitude. I can’t explain it, but for some reason I always get sad on my birthday. I think it has to do with all of the hype of it being YOUR DAY. All the facebook messages from people I haven’t heard from since 7th grade and then all the let downs of people you THOUGHT would remember, but didn’t reach out. I guess its just a ‘meh’ day for me. BUT, this year with the help of my mama, I have stayed happy and positive all day. She reminded me that this is my day, and not to worry about what others think or say, or what they don’t say, but rather just focus on ME.

Anyways, this morning I had work at 5am. It was a nice way to wake up to some text messages and emails I recieved from close friends and Jason.
My day. Bright and early (yes, this is my crackberry)

After my cardio workout, I refueled with 3 egg whites nuked in the microwaved and sprinkled with cinnamon. I love sweet eggs! I stuck with cardio this morning, because yesterday I had a killer leg workout, which I will post later this week. I did 20 minutes on the treadmill and 25 on the elliptical

1/2 Banana was eaten about a half hour afterwards.

P-p-pppprrrotein shake!
  • 1 C frozen berries
  • 1 scoop Sun Warrior Protein powder
  • 1 C skim milk
  • 1 TBSP PB
  • Water/ice
Cinnamon vanilla creme coffee with skim and 1 Truvia packet

A member of the gym brought me my first birthday gift of the day!! Yogurt covered raisins. Yes, he got them in the dining center at work, but its the thought, right?

Haven’t had these in SO long!

Snack time was a Brown Cow greek yogurt (on sale 10 for $10!)

And a juicy pear! I eat the WHOLE thing! I leave nothing behind, except some seeds. I really love pears and certainly don’t eat them as often as I’d like! I think thats what makes them more special, because I don’t eat them too, too often
I had a lovely convo with my big brother who wished me a happy birthday and told me that he has a present for me! I was super surprised, he usually always asks me what I want! I can’t wait to see what it is!

Greek yogurt mixed with cinnamon.

My manager at work got me this cookbook! the funny thing about it is that my mom LOVES this book and the whole thing is marked up at her house with notes and bookmarks. I can’t wait to make some of these recipes.

she also got me flowers! Tulips!

And no vase in sight so magic bullet it was.

I went to lunch with two of my girlfriends (sorry, didn’t take pics!) and they got me MORE flowers! So pretty, I love flowers.
After I came home I got creative in the kitchen
Protein Carrot Cake!

Shredded up some carrots

Dry ingredients

Wet ingredients

Mix, mix

Final product. Ummm, they look good right? I would say unless you improvise and then tell me what you did to make them taste better, I wouldn’t rush to make these. Sadly, I would say this was a bit of a kitchen fail. I was never good at improvising when it comes to baking. I am great at making up recipes while cooking, but the chemistry in baking just doesn’t mesh well with me for some reason.

Protein Carrot cake.

  • 1 C liquid egg whites
  • 1/3 C crushed pineapple (in a can)
  • 1/2 TSP salt
  • 1/2 TSP stevia
