What a Bike Weekend!!

What a weekend!! It was a fabulous getaway thats for sure! For those of you who don’t know, I went to Laconia NH this past weekend for Motorcycle week! We had SUCH a great time!! It was some of the most amazing people watching I have ever seen!
RIght when we got there, we went to Downtown Laconia to get some lunch. I spotted this cute place! The Downtown Deli. A blogger is always on the lookout for great food spots 🙂

I ordered a turkey wrap with sprouts, cucumber, tomatoes, cucumber, dill havarti cheese and pickles in a wheat wrap. I believe they gave me a spinach wrap instead, but it was still delicious. Fruit on the side

Looks just like mine!

Then the party started Friday afternoon. We went down to Weirs beach, where the bike rally is held. And of course we went to Laconia Harley Davidson which was PACKED

Famous Weirs Beach Sign
“Welcome to Motorcycle Week. The other 51 were just practice”

Lots of vendors, Lots of leather.

And lots of motorcycles!

We stayed at a  beautiful hotel that was a spa as well (sadly we didn’t get to enjoy any spa services). It was right on Lake Winnepesake and it was georgous! Our room had a balcony with this view

Sadly, this was the only sun we saw all weekend. Still, it was georgeous and we took in every moment

Friday night we had dinner at our hotel restaurant, which was quite fancy! It was nice staying in a beautiful hotel even during biker week. We were certainly the only ‘bikers’ that were staying here…but thats the way I like it. We had fun during the day, but I wanted to come back to a comfy bed, clean room and amazing food!  I went with the roast chicken breast

Our meal started with some of the best bread I have ever had, I am not kidding. It was served in a paper bag, to keep it doughy, hot and delicious. It was so good, we had a few pieces left and stuck the bag of bread in my purse for later! It was nutty, grainy and so doughy!

I love when chicken breast is served on the bone, it has so much more flavor! Since this meal was a la carte, I got some asparagus on the side as well

Jason got a kobe beef burger with shoe string fries. I had a bite. It was so juicy and delicious

We went back to the room and I got my game face and sweatshirt on, because we were taking a ride out to a local ‘biker bar’ more for people watching than anything else!

The room came with a continental breakfast that was so cute! It felt like I was eating in someone’s cozy country kitchen. Fourtunatly I am one smart girl an ended up eating the food I brought!

Tables set up in the ‘dining room’ There was those 1 cup coffee brewers, I had about 3–they are TINY!

It was slim pickings for the fresh fruit, but I did see some!! Watermelon, pineapple and ‘lope

I brought some greek yogurts with me just in case, and some Kashi as well. Good thing I did because this was my breakfast both days!

I hopped on this trike at the Dealership. You can’t really see it but it has two wheels in the back, one in the front and its MASSIVE.

This guy rode his motorcycle with a beautiful parrot!! It hopped right on his shoulder after I took the picture, and he just walked like this was totally normal! it was hilarious!
Our bed. This room was HUGE. Yes, I did get in some Insanity Sunday morning! There was plenty of room and I said to Jason that I was doing it at least one day. SO happy I did! I felt awesome the whole day.
And sunday, repeat breakfast with some banana slices and about 30 oz of coffee…I kid, I kid…but def 3 cups!
The weekend was fabulous and I was so sad to come back to reality….but it must come to an end!
Last night for dinner, I made us some healthy stirfry. I used bok choy! For some reason, stir fry’s taste so much better when I use real chinese vegetables like Bok Choy. I sauteed some chicken breast and added onions, red pepper, broccoli and bok choy. I made a simple sauce:
  • 1 T Peanut butter
  • 1 T Rice wine vinegar
  • 1 T soy sauce
  • 1 t ginger
  • 1 minced clove of garlic
  • water
  • Nuke for 35 second and stir
Instead of brown rice, I spotted this at the grocery store. Brown Rice cous-cous. I LOVED this! It was so much nuttier and richer than normal brown rice

I mixed it with some dried cranberries
Dinner is served!
This morning I had 3 hardboiled egg whites POST Insanity. It was a sweaty workout! HRM: 704 calories torched
Juicy Apple around 11am
Kashi Go Lean, Peanut Butter and greek yogurt as well!
Since I have no groceries at my apt, I stopped at shaws on the way home and made a quick salad bar (Just vegetables basically) When I got home, I whipped up some healthy tuna salad (made with greek yogurt, cumin and mustard) I also diced up 1/4 of an avocado

I used some ezekial bread and made a tuna and avo bite!

So all in all, I had a great weekend, missed you all obviously!!
  • What did you cook or bake this weekend?
  • Have you ever been to an event that had great people watching and maybe took you out of your ‘comfort zone’?
  • Do you like amusement park food or cringe at the idea of funnel cakes and turkey legs? I am NOT a fan. Yes I eat healthy and Yes I love to splurge, but funnel cakes, street meats, and corn on the cob eaten standing up and cooked in bulk like that just rub me the wrong way! I would much rather enjoy myself at the event, then go a little ways away to find some good food! (just my opinion!!)
