Are You a Fashionista?

Heeelllooooo my dear friends, happy HUMP day. I have to say after doing Turbo Fire two days in a row, wow, my abs are sore. I can feel it all around–obliques, rectus abdominus and erector spinae (which are the 3 main muscles of the abdominal region) it feels good!!
Yesterday for an afternoon snack, I whipped up some MGN Ice cream sandwich protein (1 scoop) with water and ice. I stuck it in the freezer for about 30 mintutes so it got nice and cold! I ate it with a spoon, which was a bit more exciting
I threw in about 1/4 C of blueberries in there. It was like blueberry ice cream! Some of you asked me where I got the Muscle Gauge Nutrition protein. Well, I ordered it from Muscle and Strength
Dinner was a small side salad of romaine, tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage dressed up with some balsamic
The main event was filet of sole, roasted cauliflower, grilled green beans (SO GOOD!) and 1/2 of a sweet potato. The filet of sole was cooked stove top with garlic and white wine. DEEELICIOUS! its by far one of my favorite white fish’s. (fishes?)

This morning I woke up and was so looking forward to my bowl of oatmeal. I really don’t know how some people skip breakfast….You couldn’t pay me to skip my favorite meal of the day!
I found some PB2 (which i used to use all the time, but got sick of it) it is basically powdered peanut butter but extremely low in calories and fat. It is made from real peanuts. 2 T has 53 calories. You mix it with a tiny bit of water and it gets to be somewhat the consistancy of peanut butter
Enter the glorious PB2 Bowl.
I mixed 1 T of the PB2 mix with some water and dolloped it right on top of my 1/2 C oats cooked in water. I also mixed in 1/2 C of blueberries, strawberries and 2 eggwhites. Cinnamon of course too!
The oats that I used today were from Trader Joes and they took a bit longer to cook and absorb the water. They had a much denser, nuttier flavor and i think this bowl acutally kept me full longer than the regular rolled oats. I need to get myself my own jar of these oats next time I am at Trader Joes.
This is the brand that I used. It was delicious! Took a bit longer, like I said, but totally worth it!
I also had a 3 eggwhite puff (microwaved for a minute and a half, with a dust of cinnamon
Lunch was a spinach salad with cabbage, red pepper, cucumbers and shrooms. I topped it with 1 tsp olive oil and balsamic vinegar
The other half of my sweet potato from last night for some carbys
Tofu that I cooked from the other day ( I cooked it on a pan, stove top with ginger and soy sauce until firm)
Workout
Today, I completed Turbo Fire 30 and I also did 45 minutes of Chest and Back from P90x. It has been a few days since I have done any upper body strength training, and I was so hyped up after turbo fire that I just kept on going! It was a great workout.
I made some great purchases yesterday that I was quite proud of! Something I don’t really touch upon on the blog is fashion and clothes! I love shopping and I am a serious victim of buying and returning constantly (I get that from my mom!) I keep all of my reciepts in my wallet, and as soon as I purchase something, I write on the top of the reciept what it is in bold letters, so its easy to find in my search! (i get that from my mom to!) I got this cute white dress and pink skirt, both from TJ MAXX (gosh, I love that store!!) Usually I go there and walk out with kitchen gadgets, bowls or spoons, but today It was clothing, finally!! These pieces are both eyelet, which is very ‘in’ right now. (I really don’t care if it ever ‘isn’t in’ because I will still wear these items!)
Skirt by Rachel Roy . I love this skirt, because I can dress it up or down quite easily. It has black behind the pink, so it would look super cute with black flip flops or heels and a black tank! The dress was by Laundry by Shelli Segal  and its a bit nicer, but worn with some cute sandals, it could surely be dressed down!
When people ask me about my “style” i don’t really know how to respond. I am a very simple person BUT I love bright, bold colors. I LOVE anything neon. Neon pink, orange, green…you name it, I love brightening up a simple outfit with some neon colors
These are my Nikes that I am obsessed with because they have NEON PINK in them!!
Kristen Bell. I love this outfit! The skirt is hot pink and makes the outfit pop, while the top and shoes are nuetral and much less toned out, not as intense. I love splashes of color here and there!
My favorite stores: Jcrew, Banana Republic, TJ Maxx, Forever 21, Nordstroms, Urban Outfitters, Ann Taylor Loft, Lululemon
I think that Jennifer Anniston has a style taht I love. Its simple, sophisticated yet feminine and cute.
  • What is your take on fashion. Do you try to always wear something “trendy” or do you do your own thing? I will admit, I have fallen victim to the “trendy” item for whatever season or time of year it is. I wear this item a few times, then the next season look at it and think to myself “what the heck was I THINKING” these days, I buy what I like and what looks good. I try not to waste money on something if I knwo I will never wear it. I will also admit I have clothes in my closet with price tags on them because I never wore them. I try to avoid that these days!
  • Which person in your life or celebrity do you admire how they dress and present themselves? My mom, Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock, Lauren Conrad
  • What is your favorite brand/kind of oatmeal? I am a rolled oats gal, but also love steel cut!
