Avocado + Oats…YES

Hey! Happy Monday…the start of a new week 🙂 I hope you all had a nice weekend! We had geogeous weather here in Boston, I wish it was a little bit warmer, but if there is sun out, I’ll take it! I got a whole lot done this weekend including hot yoga, some shopping, food prep, awesome workouts and food shopping! On Saturday night, I was craving ahi tuna. So to Whole Paycheck I went to pick some up. Now, I know that right now is not exactly tuna season, so I wasn’t expecting it to be cheap. Then again, nothing at Whole foods really ever is! $21.99 a lb to be exact!

But it was beautiful!
We picked up some black and tan sesame seeds and sea salt blend to coat the outer edges of the fish before flash cooking.
Coating in action. There really was no method here, if you were curious….I just drudged the edges in all of the sesame goodness until it was covered!
We placed the fish on a screaming hot pan. cook about 2 minutes each side
We even set the table! (it was a girls night dinner)
Salad
Cocktail shrimp–just in case we wanted some more seafood options
Steamed veggies
TUNA!
I made a side salad of baby spinach, red pepper, cucumber and fresh dill. I used balsamic vinegar as the dressing
Sliced the tuna after letting it sit for about 5 minutes. It was so buttery and delicious. I cannot wait for summertime to have fresh fish ALL of the time. Seafood is one of my favorite food groups (if it is a food group?) I loved the crunch of the sesame seeds and there was not that much salt in there at all. It only had 80mg in 1 tsp which is not that much compared to some other seasonings that contain salt.
SUNDAY
Sunday morning I went to the CSF studio for a killer workout and posing class. I am telling you. The diet–I can follow. The workouts–I am nailing…but walking in those heels–the RIGHT way? That would be the most difficult aspect of this competition thus far. Sure I can walk in 5inch heels, but to walk with sass and movement, and think about all of the things you need to do. Stop, turn, smile, don’t look down…ah! I definately need to work on this more and more!

Ok so this morning I turned to twitter with a very important question

Avocado in my oatmeal–yay or nay

Thinking about putting avocado in my oatmeal? Yay or nay…kinda sounds weird but I’m intrigued to try it

Well I recieved LOTS of responses including this from Gabriela. I tweeted all the while making my breakfast–multitasking at its finest. 1/2 C liquid egg whites, berries

@onefitfoodie Do it!! I know I’ve seen it on blogs before…I think on @ohsheglowsRT @onefitfoodie Thinking about putting avocado in my oat

Coffee while still deciding what route to go down for my breakfast.
Still deciding even after they were almost done.
OK I did it! BOOM avocado in my oatmeal. I also tweeted that I would not be using nearly a lot of avocado so even if its not good, well then I probably wouldn’t care for 1 morning.
But let me tell you. This was GOOOOOOD They got warm, buttery and almost melded flavors with the hot oatmeal. Yes, thank you twitter friends. Amazing call

Question of the day: What is something you are intrigued to try?
