A Weekend Update!

Hello my bloggettes!

how are we all doing?? How was everyone’s weekend, please share with me your weekend festivities and delicious eats, thank you OH so much šŸ™‚

First off, I want to thank everyone who is participating in the Annies Giveaway!Ā  I am super excited about it and, thank you ll for visiting and entering! GOOD LUCK!

The weekend was fairly low key but sometimes that is the best! After a long week, all I want to do sometimes is just relax ya know??

Friday, Jason and I went to a local restaurant to grab some food. We were both very tired and just wanted something easy and fast. The restaurant is called Union StreetĀ . They have a very large ‘pub’ like menu with choices for everyone! Its a great go-to place!

I went with the Bourbon Turkey Tips with a side ofĀ broccoli. LOOK AT HOW MUCH THEY GAVE ME! I got a garden salad on the side with balsamicĀ vinaigretteĀ (sorry I didn’t snap a shot!) This was delicious! there was SO much turkey too, I ended up taking 5 pieces home which I had in my salad last night for dinner! The turkey was perfectly cooked and that bourbon marinade was so sweet and delicious. It was JUST what I wanted!

Jason got the Monterey Chicken sandwich onĀ focacciaĀ served with guacamole, apple wood smoked bacon, herb mayo and fries. He said it was “alright” but nothing to write home about. Those fries did look good, but I try to avoid fried anything, so I just feasted on my yummy dinner and let him have them all šŸ™‚ What a good girlfriend I am, huh?

Saturday Morning, the alarm was set for 7:25 because we wereĀ volunteeringĀ for the Juvenile Diabetes Walk for a CureĀ . I grabbed a Fage greek yogurt, 1 cup of Kashi Go Lean and some apple slicesĀ and we were on our way, well after we stopped at Starbucks for a coffee of course!!

Every few months my company strives to participate in local events so me and some of my co-workers chose this event to help out at! My camera was DEAD shortly after I snapped a few shots, so sad!! Ā so anyways, we woke up to go to downtown boston to help out in the POURING RAIN!!!!….luckily we were stationed under a tent, helping with registration and check-in, so we stayed nice and dry!

one of the food booths was also giving away these McDonald’s Apple dippers. It is a bag of fresh cut apples and side of caramel dipping sauce. I opted out of using the caramel sauce just because I don’t really like it, but the apples were surprisingly crisp and delicious!
Later that day, J and I went to check out this new “shopping center” called Legacy Place in Dedham, MA. I was most excited about the BRAND NEW Lululemon store!!Ā ( I have not told you all I am Addicted to Lulu!! and get the 10% trainer discount!!)Ā I walked out with this sweeeeet new Sigg waterbottle

that says “Sweat Once A Day” YESSS I cannot wait to use this everyday!
** If you could create a saying on a water bottle what would YOUR saying be??”**

I also got this cute hat!
I think the BEST part of walking around Legacy Place was the “Garlicky Greens Eating Competition” That was taking place at B.Good, which is a healthy fast food restaurant! I don’t know about you but I have NEVER seen anything like this. There were about 8 guys competing in who can eat a HUGE plate of garlicky greens the fastest! Click HERE for more info. Jason and I were both getting antsy and it was still raining, so we didn’t stay and watch, BUT we were there while they were setting up, and this drew quite a crowd!

the Garlicky Greens eating competition set up!
Sunday Thus Far
Woke up and had this delicious bowl of pure amazingness

Yes, this is sitting on my computer case for the shot šŸ™‚
In the oats mix
  • 1/2 C oatmeal
  • 1/2 nanner sliced in
  • Water/almond milk combo for the liquid
  • frozen blueberries and 3 diced strawberries
  • 1 egg white
  • chia
  • cinnamon
  • Truvia packet
  • Peanut butter and Almond butter on the side-I just couldn’t decide which one to have so I had some of both!!
***What do you prefer…ALMOND or PEANUT butter??? Do you like one or the other on certain items….I am oh so curious??”

Then I went to the GYM! and Yes, I used my new Sigg, Lulu bottle, I was as excited as a little kid in a candy store! (or big kid!!)
I did
  • 25 minutes on the stepmill
  • 2 miles on the treadmill (intervals and such) but all running
  • 2 sets of 20 crunches with the medicine ball
  • 2 Sets of 20 woodchoppers
  • 2 sets windmill crunches (legs at 90 degrees and lower them to the left and to the right with a 4lb med ball in btwn legs)
  • 2 sets 20 pushups
This workout was short but sweet! Sundays are usually my relax/take it easy day, so I just did what I wanted! I have my personal trainer tomorrow so I just stuck mostly to cardio because he kills me with weights! (which I LOVE!)
I came home and feasted on this post workout snackie!
  • 1/2 C cottage cheese
  • 1/2 Macintosh Apple
  • Lots of Cinnamon!
  • THIS HIT THE SPOT!

That’s all I got for now! The BF is on a motorcycle ride with some buddies, coming back soon and we will be hanging, doing some errands and snapping lots of pics!!
Have a great afternoon and remember to:
you have until Tuesday October 6th at 10 PM
GOOD LUCK!
Lunch Time!

Lunch was sooo good today! I think I gave myself a little pat on the back. I wanted to use one of the TJs low carb wraps but they are very small in diameter, too small to put a bunch of ingredients inside and roll up. SO i had the idea to make an open faced tuna melt!Ā

The BEFORE pic.
  • 1 TJ’s low carb tortilla
  • tuna salad made with 1 can albacore white tuna, dollop greek yogurt, dollop horseradish mustard, red onion, scallion
  • 2 thick slices tomato
  • 1/4 C low fat mozz sprinkled on top!
The AFTER pic. Get in mah belly, now. Thank you šŸ™‚
I just toasted this in the toaster oven Ā and voila!
I also made a side salad with baby spinach, tomato, red pepper, walnuts, shredded carrot, cuke!

Ā Home made dressing! Balsamic, stone ground mustard, honey

——
Later in the day, Jason and I went on a motorcyle ride!

ha, I am quite the bike babe dont ya think?? (yeah right!!)

close up shot from the bike!

view of boston from the bike

our destination: Tavern On the Water in Charlestown, Ma

our drinkies! A corona light for J and glass of Malbec wine for me!

what. a night.
if you are wondering why I didn’t have dinner pics, well you can just get upset with me right now because I FORGOT! I ate my dinner and then go “Sh*t!!!! I was so hungry I forgot to snap a shot!!” so I Ā apologize
Ā
This is when I remembered… so sad, the end of my delicious grilled soy salmon and steamed veggies šŸ™
OK my gals, have a FABULOUS night!!

also, new email address! Onefitfoodie@gmail.com! YAY

I would love to buy Lululemon clothes. They’re so cute. But…SO expensive. I should check out ebay. Cool Sigg bottle.
I am definitely a PB person. AB is good, but I prefer PB. I like Cashew butter a lot too.

  2. platipus329 says:

Most of the nut butters I eat are flavored and that determines why I like them, but when it comes to a straight nut butter, nothing beats Trader Joe’s Sea Salted almond butter. My oh my that’s good.

Garlicy greens eating competition?! No way! Talk about some awful breath…and too many trips to the bathroom…ewww.

I was at the walk for a cure today too, I was with a group called “Sarah’s Super Striders!” IT was a good time, but way too cold.

I prefer peanut butter, but I tend to use almond butter when I am cooking and want to add some type of nut butter.

Nice of you to leave the fries for your bf. I do that too, because I don’t really want them! And heck yeah that’s a TON of broccoli! Good deal.

  4. Melissa says:

I’m still a PB girl, but I think it’s because I like the flavored ones so much (Dark Chocolate Dreams, Vanilla, etc…). I’ve never had a flavored almond butter.

I’m dying to get to the Dedham stores. I heard they have a Free People store there too!

What is a woodchopper exercise? Sounds fun!

  5. Jenny says:

oh tough call — PB always has my heart, but I do LOVE AB.. it’s a nice change!

sounds like you had a great weekend.. and I am in love with the hat! you’ll have the warmest ears on the block ;)!

p.s. for some reason your picture’s would show up in my email for this weeks *best of..* šŸ™ try sending them as an attachment next time – it usually works!

I love peanut butter on everything! But almond butter does make good sandwiches and makes for a nice change!

I love how that restaurant gave you tons of broccoli! That’s my kind of meal!

And I had a snack similar to yours today! so good!

  7. ksgoodeats says:

Choosing between AB and PB is like choosing between your favorite parent. You just can’t! They each offer something great šŸ™‚

What a fun night with the BF!! I give you major kudos for going on the motorcycle – I would probably pee my pants I’d be so scared!

  8. Allison says:

I entered the giveawayy..what a good idea!!! šŸ™‚ I personally am a PB gal only because I havent even tried AB yet!!! I knowww, its insanity haha. The motorcycle ride looks fun and so does your dinner. Ugh any place by the water is the best place to eat dont you think? šŸ™‚

  9. RunToTheFinish says:

gosh there is so much to comment on I can’t remember it all… let’s see i am a nut butter addict in general…pretty much I prefer it straight from the jar so I can taste every bit.

isn’t it funny when you order veggies at a restaurant I often think the serving is so big because they have too much since not enough people order them!

  10. Kristen says:

wow sounds like you had an amazing weekend!! loove the new sigg bottle! i think my saying would be “Drink it like you mean it” haha (first thing i could think of!)

i’m definitely a PB girl, i’ve tried almond and want to like it but something always tastes OFF to me.

    have a great day!
