A Beautiful Harley Day!

HII and happy Sunday…well not so happy for me…I do have work tomorrow, no Monday off because of Columbus day…Ohh well, such is life right??

Lets start where we left off shall we?? Lunch yesterday was a hit! Jason and I went to Ufood grill  which is a local healthy fast food restaurant. Their saying is ‘Nutrious is delicious” hmmm this reminds me of one of my fav bloggetes!! of course, nutritiousisdelicious however I digress, Back to the food!

We got it to-go and enjoyed our lunch at Jason’s

I went with the Chipotle Chicken whole wheat wrap. It came with tomatoes, pickles, jalepeno jack cheese, red onion and I swapped the chipotle mayo for honey mustard. As you can see, we had a bit of a leakage issue. But nonetheless, It was delicious! Ufood never lets me down!

Jason went with the falafel wrap. ( I know, I know, mine looks better!!) But his was very tasty. It had baked falafels, hummus, veggies in a whole wheat wrap! That ketchup is for his fries

A few hours later I decided to break into one of my Kay’s Naturals goodies!

Honey Almond Protein Cereal. It has 100 calories, 9g protein per serving! AND gluten free! These were awesome! So light and delicious BUT I think I liked the apple cinnamon ones that I tried on Friday a teeny bit better.

I made some cereal in a mug with Simply Smart Skim Milk!

Today is a BEAUTIFUL Sunday in New England. Jason and I knew we wanted to take the bike somewhere pretty to see the foliage and walk around. We decided on Newburyport, MA which is out in the North Shore, right near the ocean. Little did we know that there was a HUGE food festival happening in downtown Newburyport! You can imagine my excitement! it was unreal. There were so many food vendors and people, food tasting and booths set up for the public

We will get to the vendors in a bit, but we were very hungry and landed on this local restaurant called Abraham’s.

It was such a cute, local place with a real local feel. The owner was behind the counter greeting everyone and it made for such a pleasant experience!

I got a grilled whole wheat wrap with roasted eggplant, squash, onion, hummus and grilled chicken. Served with a pickle! This wrap was AMAZING. seriously the best I have had in a while. I think the hummus really added that extra umpf. I forget how good hummus is in a sammie!! I will be getting some when I go to the grocery store tonight!!

Jason got the classic egg salad sandwich on multi-grain bread. It was served with lettuce tomato and a pickle! This egg salad was also phenom! It was not mayo-y at all, fresh and the big chunks of egg were present!

Next I wandered to the Cabot Cheese booth for some cheese tasting!

This was the.best! 50% reduced fat chedder cubes!

Peppah Jack (as we say in Boston)

There were the cutest carts taking people all around for free!

Jason and Naomi By the water in Newburyport (yes thats my new Lulu hat!!)

This was a cute, fitness scarecrow that was on display! Man, I am buff, what do you think??

ON the way home, We stopped at a local fruit and veggie farm and picked up some goodies!

Those are some honeycrisps and an eggplant! We also got some macouns to the right of the eggplants!

Twas a great day overall! Now we are just watching the Patriots and relaxing!

Have a wonderful Sunday!!

Look at all those amazing wraps! You guys sure know how to pick ’em! I also stopped for some fresh picked apples this morning….fall produce really makes the cold temps worth it!!

I used to go to the Grange Fair when I was little.
Last year Bobby and I went to the Apple Butter festival at Gizdich Ranch; we might go again this year (it’s Saturday).
I’ve been to more but I can’t think of them now 😛

You’re the queen of wraps! Lil’ Kim of the foodies 😉

I love UFood. I hope they open more locations.

Newburyport is beautiful. My bf used to work there and we go on nature walks there all the time. Looks like you had a blast!

That Chipotle Chicken wrap looks amazing.

I love festivals…the last one I went to was the Feast of San Genarro in the city about a month ago =)

    What a fun day!!!
I love festivals of allll kinds. Just blogged about “Festifall” in Chapel Hill last Sunday! Nothing beats great food, fresh air, and local artists! 🙂

Ohhhh I am well pleased you posted about chipotle. There is one near here that I keep seeing but I didn’t know what it was!

I bet you can guess where i am going this week 🙂

It surprised you that the fried ball of carbohydrate, covered in sugar, was popular?? Come on, America is 33% obese! That is why 🙂

Your wraps look fantastic,by the way. And that cereal sounds great. High protein cereal is a good choice, I should look into that myself since my Almond Milk doesn’t have much protein.

I have not actually been to a “food Festival”, unless you count the Taste of UA and Grandview! Nothing like your festival, but there way food!

i love festival things like that!
the fried dough? not as much… that’s a share a bite type of thing (but i won’t lie, if i’m with someone who gets some, i won’t say no to one bite)
we did some farms last weekend that go all out in the fall-we shared corn on the cob and a caramel apple-yum!

Thank you for sharing. I am GF and anything that’s got those stats on it, I’m all about it!!!!! Thank you!!!

    Your fried food lady/worker comment…priceless.

Food festivals lately? Sadly no, but I love walking around watching people stuff turkey legs into their mouths with beer sloshing down their shirt, while trying to wipe the donut sprinkles off their mouth. I dont actually need to eat anything, I just need to go with a good sense of humor 🙂

There’s been some AWESOME food festivals around here: Korean festival, Greek festival, tofu festival, mooncake festival…all of which I could not attend because of 1) classes or 2) lack of transportation! T__T Boo hoo hoo….

Yes, your wrap looks better! Gimme meat! 😀

That healthy fast food place sounds awesome! I love that more restaurants are becoming aware of the nutritional content of their foods. VERY cool that you ran into that food festival- looks like lots of fun. I was so sad that the Pats lost yesterday 🙁

It offended me that you think it’s ok to mention the size of the woman serving a the fried dough stall. That you assume she must eat from her own stall. If the same woman was working at a salad bar would you have said the same thing about salad? Maybe you should check out operationbeautiful.com
