Turkey Lurky Dooo….

The title of this post comes from Adam Sandlers “thanksgiving” song, if you are wondering!
I hope you all had a wonderful, delicious, family filled thanksgiving! This year my family and I spent it in Cape Cod. We have a house there and very close friends of ours have a house there as well. The thanksgiving feast was at our family friends house.
Table setting.
The Beautiful table setting
Our place settings, The plates had birds on them. How appropriate!
We each had a chocolate turkey on our plates!

We played some shuffleboard before the festivities.
We were all served some Brocolli and Fennel soup made by my mom. This was served as we watched some football, played some shuffleboard and caught up with each other! It was beyond delicious. Super healthy and so light. I will get the recipe and post it from my mom.
Some moist, chewy, buttery Squash rolls were served with the soup. The color reminded me of egg bagels.
Mashed sweet potatoes are under there, I promise! one half with ‘mellows, one half with pecan/brown sugar.
After the broiling process.
Green Beans with caramelized, sweet, onions

  • traditional stuffing
  • green beans and caramilized onions
  • sweet potatoes with ‘mellows and pecans
  • 2 types of gravy
  • mashed potatoes with cheesy topping
  • squash rolls

Green salad with hearts of palm, mandarin oranges, almond slivers, artichoke hearts
My plate: Turkey, Steak, Green beans, sweet potatoes (with the marshmellows!) my homemade cranberry sauce, apple sauce. I also had a separate plate of salad, unpictured

mmmm. Perfection.

appetizer to dessert. Toffee bites with chocolate and powdered sugar

Sweets plate: Brownies with walnuts, HUGE pumpkin cookies, chocolate chip cookies

I was all over the pumpkin cookie!

Dessert table. The sweet plate, blueberry pie, apple/pecan crisp, fresh fruit, 3 tubs of ice cream, chocolate sauce

Oh yeah, this was made. (not mine, I was so stuffed from the pumpkin cookie!)

So pretty and HEALTHY!
My Plate: Vanilla ice cream, fruit, pumpkin cookie, piece of brownie.

This was amazing. I heated it up in the oven too! It had the perfect gingerbread/pumpkin spices and was not too sweet which i enjoyed. I ate it with the vanilla ice cream on top!

We opened up this delicious, bubbly prosseco as well!
FOOD COMA beyond. Everything was so delicious!!
How was everyones thanksgivings? Did you all eat what you were looking forward to?

Did you try anything NEW this year that you just loved?

-I am off to the gym for a much needed workout and then my 5 year HS reunion tonight ahhh!

Gotta have the fresh fruit with dessert 😉
I tried Trader Joe’s lemon bars for the first time–they weren’t to die for but still good and much better than making my own

The toffee bites are right up my alley as is that squished choc chip caramel cookie mess. Hot diggity, that has my name all over it.

I did eat what I was looking forward to! Thanksgiving especially- I try and only eat what I’m looking forward to, that way I don’t over indulge on foods that I’m not particularly excited about. 🙂
