Zevia Virgin no more and FRIENDS thanksgiving!!

Monica: Can you help me fold these napkins?
Pheobe: Sure
Monica: I’m gonna go across the hall and check on the yams.[Notices the way Pheobe is folding the napkins

Monica: No… no honey… Not like that, we’re not a barn dance. You wanna fold them like swans like I showed you at Christmas, remember?
Pheobe: Yeah. It all came screaming back to me.

I Love FRIENDS. I am referring to the TV show, however I love my own friends as well! I was  so sad to see go off the air. I always looked forward to the Thanksgiving episodes, as they were some of the cleverest written ones! Is anyone else a FRIENDS lover?

I had work at 5am this morning. The good thing about these early days is that I am done for the day at 12:30-yay. I worked out bright and early this morning (cardio) I started with 20 minutes on the treadmill. Splits were as follows

  • 1 min @ 6.5 @ 0% incline
  • 1 min @ 6.6 @ 1% incline
  • 1 min @ 6.7 @ 2% incline
  • 1 min @ 6.8 @ 3% incline
  • 1 min @ 6.9 @ 4% incline
  • 1 min @ 7.0 @ 3% incline
  • (Repeat again)
  • 1 min @ 7.5
  • 1 min @ 8.0
  • 1 min @ 8.5
  • 1 min @ 6.5
  • 1 min @ 7.5
  • 1 min @ 8.0
  • 1 min @ 8.5
  • 1 min @ 6.5
After the treadmill workout, I went on the spin bike and rocked my butt out to “for your entertainment” by Adam Lambert “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga and Russian Roulette by Rhianna (great climbing song!) By the way, has anyone gotten the new Lady Gaga Fame Monster CD? AMAZING.

This was used in my gingerbread coffee this morning. Yum

Sorry, blurry. The steam made it that way!
  • 1/2 C oats
  • Blueberries/strawberries
  • chia
  • 1 Truvia packet
  • 1/2 nanner.
and some of this Crazy Richard’s PB (I don’t like putting all my pb on my oats in a glob. I much prefer having it on the side, dipping into the PB, then dipping into the oats!

Oats in a jar-So Soon!
Couple hours later this duo was devoured.
Mixed with Fiber one. Subtle sweet deliciousness (great description, thank you Lizzy !!)
For lunch I mixed 1 can 3oz tuna with my homemade cranberry sauce   (Gotta get in that thanksgiving spirit!)
With some plain chobani and diced celery. It was so delicious and also such a pretty red color!
I wrapped it up and threw it in the toaster to get warm and toasty.

Baby Spinach, tomato, horseradish mustard, tuna.
delicious salad of baby spinach, red pepper, tomatoes, broccoli, cuke, balsamic vinegar, Sabra peppadew hummus and Foods Alive Italian Zest Flax Crackers.
I broke into this cookie from the package I received yesterday from Gluten Free Life
ingredients: Sorghum Flour, Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Butter, Tapioca Flour, Free Range Eggs, Chocolate Chips (Chocolate Liquor, Sugar, Vanilla), Xantham Gum, Baking Soda, Sea Salt.
Verdict: I had mixed feelings about this cookie. The first bite had a bit of a strange texture, which got better after a few chews but I had to take another because i couldn’t even describe what it felt like in my mouth. It was moist and delicious and had lots of chocolate chips (plus!) but it had an overpowering butter taste to it. (my mom agreed) It was good, but I do think that Averie  could make a better GF cookie!! I am so thankful for this company to send me products to sample and review, however I don’t think I would buy this cookie from a store. 6.5/10
I FINALLY received my Zevia Package from winning Kristi’s giveaway
First up: Black Cherry Zevia. I really liked this a lot. I love black cherry soda and have tried the diet Dr. Hansen’s from Trader Joes which I loved! That soda is made with splenda. The taste was very comparable, but this didn’t have as fake an aftertaste. Strong black cherry flavor, all I was thinking about was making a black cherry float!
It also came in this saawweeeet lunch bag!

Have you tried Zevia? What flavor should I try next?

I want to wish everyone a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!!

Q: Are there lots of last minute things you are doing to prepare for tomorrow? (My mom just called me and said she needs 1/2 C flour) interesting mom, I will be sure to bring you 1/2 C in a baggie!
Q: Blueberries or strawberries? (random I know, and I am a blueberry person!)

I LOVE Friends! That was a great episode (one of the better ones, they were all fantastic!).

Glad you enjoyed the Zevia. My favorite flavors are Gingerale and the Raspberry, yuuuuummmm!

Have a great Thanksgiving! I have to make my aspargus dish tomorrow, so that’s what I do last minute I guess. But it won’t take long at all.

Root beer is my favorite zevia flavor–love it!
Could anybody not like friends? That’d be like not liking Christmas
Omg tuna and cranberry sauce is SUCH a good idea. Why did that never occur to me

  3. Chelsea (Chelsea's Chew and Run Fun) says:

Thankfully, I have nothing to prepare for tomorrow except for what outfit I intend on wearing. I’m going to a party with friends and the hosts area married couple that j’adore cooking bountiful feasts. Score!

Your tuna wrap looks delicious. I would’ve never thought of blending tuna, cranberry, and plain greek yogurt…but you have opened my eyes!

  4. Jenny says:

two words.. Root Beer. It’s the best!

I adore that Friend’s episode!! oh who am I kidding? I love them all.. and now I have the theme song stuck in my head, bah!

Enjoy what’s left of your night lovie!

  5. Mari says:

Ha it’s funny that you mentioned the Friends Thanksgiving episodes because I was just searching for the one with Brad Pitt where he was Ross’s friend and hated Rachel lol

    Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

Italian Zest Flax Crackers AND the GF Swag….girl, you are just a GF Queen over there, love it.

Thx for your email, and for the honest review. ANd for the amazing shoutout that you think I could make a better GF cookie. Thank you sweetie, I would love to make anything for you and bring it over to your house tomorrow…if only we lived a smidge closer 🙂

As for the Silk Vanilla. I have their soy milk in just the regular soy light silk and I have to say, I dont like it. I have only for the last many yrs used lowfat vanil almond milk but I Was sick of it, and i can cheat a smidge on soy…so I bought this huge carton of soy vanil Silk brand (not the creamer, the milk) and it’s meh to me. Is the creamer amazing, or just pretty good.

Happy TG Naomi, I heart you 🙂

OMG that FRIENDS was hilarious, but even funnier were Monica’s comments (barn dance – slays me!). I try soooo hard not to be like that. BUt isn’t it just so funny how not everyone has the same idea in their heads about how things should be done? Lol!

I went to high school with the guy who invented Zevia. I’m glad it’s making the rounds!

Hope you don’t get pulled over with that 1/2 cup of flour in a baggie. You’ll have a lot of explaining to do.

“But Officer, my mom needed flour. Hey, did you ever see that Friends episode…?”

  8. ktbwood says:

Happy Thanksgiving Naomi! I love those “Friends” holiday shows! I nearly cried when the show ended 🙁 Thankfully, I don’t have to do too much prepping for today – I’m in charge of the appetizers. I don’t think anyone wanted me to attempt making anything else!

  12. chrystad72 says:

I love Friends. Everyone makes fun of me for it though. When did it become uncool to like Friends? I don’t know. I like what I like damnit!

That burrito is serious food porn. So, thanks for that.

Gotta love “Friends” – I used to stay up till midnight each night just to watch the five episode marathon… Not that I was obsessed or anything 😉

Annnddd… BLUEBERRIES!! For sure! Went to Sweden a few weeks back and we went blueberry picking! Nothing quite like really, REALLY fresh, handpicked blueberries!! 🙂

  16. eatmovelove says:

No T-Day here in Canada – but hope yours was fabulous! Never tried Zevia – is it like a “healthier pop drink”? I was thinking I should get that Lady GAGA CD – I can’t get “Bad Romance” out of my head…actually I’m downloading it now!! haha – she sings better than the voice in my head 😉

  17. Lizzy says:
