Yea for Saturday!!

Happy Saturday! I am SO happy it is about 45 degrees in Boston today!! It feels like a beautiful spring day. I am going to actually run outside today! Jason and I are in Cape Cod with my dad right now, they are working on installing a door, so here I am blogging away. I will start with yesterday where I left off!

I went to a 9am spin class before work at 11:30 and enjoyed this bowl of oats to fuel me for the workout!

The oats were awesome, the usual 1/2 C with frozen berries, chia and some NuNaturals. Spin was awesome! I love this instructors music because it is alot of house, techno which I THRIVE off of.  HRM said I burned 646 calories in 53 minutes. Well done!

Showered up and changed for work in my NEW Lululemon vest! (I love being a trainer because I get to wear this to work!)

Smoothie to-go. 1 scoop Peanut butter Protein, 1 C skim milk, 1/2 banana, ice and water. Bubbly, creamy and frothy-the best!
Lunch @1:30 was a side salad of romaine, chickpeas, green pepper, carrots, and a small left over piece of pumpkin spiced chicken breast from the other night. All under some homemade salad dressing w/ applecider vinegar, stone ground mustard, and olive oil.
Recycled picture (but it was the same exact lunch as the other day!) Weight watchers whole wheat pita with applegate farms turkey breast, red onion, tomato, baby spinach and Sabra

Munched on some of these a couple hours later. It has been SO long since I had pistachios and they are SO good! it is a good thing I only brought ~1 Cup or I would’ve eaten way more!

Cookie Bites and Chobani at around 4:30

Bosc Pear at around 6:00. I was a bottomless pit today! I think because I had an extra hard spin sesh and it really boosted my metabolism for the day! This was so delicious!

After work I stopped at whole foods to pick up some groceries. I had never tried chocolate Almond Breeze and it was SO good! I tried a little. 2 greek yogurts, Fresh ground PB (so in the mood!) some bananas, pinata apples (never tried before!) Annie’s organic reduced fat honey mustard dressing.

Made an apperance on this:

Salad with lafayette lettuce (so tender and delicious, try it!) cabbage, red pepper, chickpeas and sesame soy snap peas from Whole Foods.

Terrible picture but this is shrimp (from the Take out counter at Whole Foods) with some Low fat Mozz melted on top! Love melted cheese on shrimp. I don’t have it often at all, but when I do its So good.

——–
This morning Jason and I woke up and hit the road for the cape. I knew the night before I needed a quick meal to take in the car, so I left out a loaf of When Pigs Fly Whole Wheat Bread

2 slices sandwiched fresh grind PB from Whole foods, raspberry jam and banana slices. So good!

And a Chobani.

And hazelnut coffee with skim and splenda (tsk, tsk) I had not had splenda in So long! but I was craving it this morning in my coffee…it’s all about moderation right?
In my daily Hungry Girl emails (which I love) I came across these desserts on Thursday. They look so good! Anyone else get the HG emails??
Well I am off to enjoy the day at the cape! we will be here all day and probably sleep here tonight, which is so nice once in a while to get away here. I am very grateful that my parents have a house here.
  • What are you up to this weekend?
  • Any weird food combinations that you love? (like my shrimp and melted cheese?)
  • What is your favorite flavor of coffee? Regular or are you a flavored kinda foodie?!

I must try the pinata apples too, heard they are yummy!!!

What protein powder brand is the peanutbutter one you use, sounds good!!!

Hey! Sounds like your Saturday is off to a great start. I just bought that chocolate almond breeze for the first time today too! I’m super excited. You look adorable in your work clothes 🙂 Great salads- nom nom.

I like plain coffee but will occasionally add some flavored syrup.

    Enjoy your weekend

  4. biz319 says:

What?? Annie’s reduced fat honey mustard?? Definitely need to find that!

During Christmas my daughter and I love peppermint coffee, but it changes – in the fall we love vanilla – and for some reason in the spring/summer we just do breakfast blends.

    Have a great weekend!

Ahh what a fantastic Saturday. I am so envious of your spin class…I need to get a second job so I can afford a gym membership 😉 (but then I might not have time to spin, haha – catch 22)

    1. This weekend I am cleaning, walking, yoga-ing, and relaxing. Maybe grading some papers.

    2. I really like figs and pb. That’s odd.

    3. I like regular coffee, with a little cinnamon sprinkled on top.

  6. hersweetcheeks says:

Ok, I’m def. a bit jealous of your vest! 😉

Mmmmm, I think I know a new combo I need to try…shrimp and cheese! Two of my favorite foods, so I don’t think I could go wrong with combining them! Thanks for the heads up!

  7. homecookedem says:

Those protein cookie bites look great! I’ll have to look into those!!

My weirdest food combo is probably refried eggs and fried eggs. I like putting my fried egg on top… I don’t know? Is that weird?

    Have a great evening!!

I love your new comment form WITHOUT The popup. That was just another extra click AND the lack of word verification. COOL!!

“I am SO happy it is about 45 degrees in Boston today!! It feels like a beautiful spring day.”–LOL b/c I think that sounds awful but growing up in MN & IL. I can relate that 45 is balmy in Jan.!

Flavored coffee…depends what kind. Not hazelnut, but vanilla. And some holiday brews are good. But they “stink up” your machine and then the next 6 pots kinda have a faint hint when you’re “over it”…or is this just me?!? haha!

    xoxo

  9. sophia says:

Nothing up this weekend. Just catching up with schoolwork, and church.
I like flavored coffee, and I usually get the hazelnut. I wish there were more varieties though.
oh, and weird food combinations? Jam and cheese sandwiches. Or jam and eggs…The sweet + savory combo is heavenly!

  10. Jocelyn says:

Hey girl! All of your food sounds soooo delish AND healthy. I’m lovin the idea of fresh ground pb. Yum yum!

I didn’t do much this weekend. I took a trip to whole foods as well but it is special to me cuz I only go every few months as it is an hour and a bita way 😉

  11. K from ksgoodeats says:

LOVE the Cape!! I haven’t been in so long but it’s one of my favorite places to go! With regards to Splenda, I had to give it up due to headaches but I swapped it with Truvia. I’m not sure if it’s any better but since it’s the ‘all mighty stevia plant’ (that’s sarcasm since stevia is like the hot new guy in school these days) I feel a little bit better consuming it.

I discovered chocolate truffle coffee – LOVE!!!

  12. findinghappinessandhealth says:

all of your eats loook so good! your oats are so fluffy 😀
i love lulu lemon- cute outfit!
    yay hungrygirl hahah
this weekend- gOING BACK TO SCHOOL ..yayay! haha im so excitedd
& hmm weird food combos – i guess osme would say sweet potato and pb is weird, but i know bloggies would disagree 😀
i loveee the peanut butter chocolate coffee i got!

  13. MelindaRD says:

Looks like you had lots of yummy eats. Cape Cod sounds so nice, especially if the weather isn’t so freezing. This weekend is low key for us. Playing tourists since it is a 3 day weekend and themps are in the 60’s and the sun is shining with minimal wind. Starting to get spoiled since I know it will rain all next week. Rain happens a lot when you are on a tiny speck of a volcano top in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Wouldn’t trade my experience for anything though!

  14. Lily @ Lily's Health Pad says:

    Love your lulu jacket.

The music played in a spin class is so important. I can’t stand it when the instructors use the overplayed top 40 stuff. I can turn on the radio and hear that any day. Music for spinning has to be unique and motivating!

  15. Food Makes Fun Fuel says:

Your oats look so fluffy! Is that the power of chia seeds?
Not much fun this weekend. Waiting for snow!
Peanut butter and cheddar cheese!(or nutritional yeast more often)
Decaf doesn’t get flavored much 🙁 But I’ve found a line of herbal teas that are like coffee I can’t wait to try more of

  16. chrystad72 says:

Hey girl! Loving the lulumon vest by the way…Looking fabulous girl! I had my in laws in town this weekend so we got to hang out which was nice. We ended up going to The Laugh Factory in Hollywood which was really fun. Its been awhile since Ive been there. But today they are flying back so I gotta get the laundry and grocery shop for the week. yey for grocery shopping not so much for laundry.

Shrimp and cheese sounds interesting. I love shrimp but Ive never had it with cheese yet…might have to give this a go.

I love flavored coffees! Anything with some type of vanilla in it is my fav. My mom ships me in this amazing coffee that smells like a snickerdoodle. Super yum!!

Great job on the spin class! woohoo!! Im actually actually about to leave for spin in about 15 minutes. So looking forward to it. It sounds weird but I love when Im just drenched in sweat. Makes me feel awesome as Im leaving the gym. I like when the teachers are super challenging and just push up to the max.

I just absolutely love how fresh and healthy all your food looks. I hope you are having an amazing weekend sweetie. xoxoxo!

  17. melonshots says:

    everything looks delish 🙂
I love your lulu gear. tres hot!
the choc. almond breeze is good 🙂 I just bought some myself!

i really love plain coffee in the morning.. but i do have some mad cravings for flavored ones now and then 😛

  18. Gina says:

Pumpkin spice chicken breast?! What a great idea! I love that. I also like the new vest, it looks amazing on you.

As for weird food combinations, I USED to dip my broccoli in ketchup. Isn’t that nasty? I don’t do that anymore. I got made fun of a lot for that.

Favorite coffee flavor; the basic breakfast blend! I am not a fan of flavored coffee, unless it’s in the form of a latte with tons of foam and vanilla syrup 😉

Still not getting updates from you, sooooo annoying. I hate Blogspot.

  19. Julie says:

wow that vest is gawjuusss girl! i love being able to wear sweats and nice workout clothes to work too 🙂

gotta love starting the weekend off with a killer spin class!

  20. MelissaNibbles says:

    Love the vest! Very cute.
Where can I find those protein cookie bites? They sound like they’d be good in Chobani.

I have many weird food combos, I don’ teven know where to begin. Sweet taters and PB is one 🙂
Enjoy your time on the Cape girl!

  21. peaceluvmunchies says:

Ahh! Love your Lululemon vest!! I want a jacket so badly — but I need to get myself into a better workout routine before I can justify buying it. Your oats look amazing — so light and fluffy looking!

I am obsessed with hazelnut coffee. I just am. haha 🙂 It’s a problem.

  22. Abby (Abbys Vegan Eats) says:

Your food looks great, Naomi, as always!! I LOVE your lulu gear.. you are rockin the black look.. soo chic 🙂

Im a tea girl.. but I make french press coffee every morn for my hub (by choice… he doesnt make me) lol and he prefers just regular black.. nothing else! 🙂

  23. greensandjeans says:

I work at a cycling/running store so I usually find myself in running shoes and yoga pants! Not a bad gig, huh? My favorite weird food combo is peanut butter and pickles. mmmmm

  24. Karin says:

I haven’t been to spin class in ages which is such a shame. Classes are always so crowded in winter though!
Love your vest & I so wish we had lululemon (and whole foods) over here.

  25. healthhappinesshope says:

I LOVE how the weather seems to be so mild lately!!! It makes it so much more motivational to get outside and get active. And that vest is adorable!!! I have a new found love for Lululemon with my yoga capris. 😉

  27. Sara says:

I loved the warm weather this weekend, and now we have more white fluff everywhere!

I have that honey mustard vinagarette and love it! My fave coffee flavor lately is pepermint, ’tis the season. My weird combo isn’t too bad… pb spread on tortilla chips.

  28. Janetha says:

girl, your oats are overflowing with LOVE! it’s awesome. great calorie burn. mmm pistachios are SO addicting.. and even worse? pistachio ice cream! mmmm, i dont know that ive had cheesey shrimp before but i like the looks of it. i love my daily HG email!
