The Crazy Lady

You know what I am slowly realizing as I am getting older? I am becoming my mother.  I don’t know about you, but my mom is a crazy lady, and I say that in the most respectful of ways. I love her to death, but she has such things about her that just make her a little crazy. She loses her sunglasses at least once a day (and has about 15 pairs because of ones she has lost and found) That goes for her keys and cell phones as well. (well she doesn’t have 15 cell phones but you get the point) A couple days ago,  I was with her and she had JUST been on her phone, and when she got in her car to leave, she couldn’t find it, but the last time she was on it, was in her car, so she asked that I call her. It was in the center console of her car, right where she left it. That was a little silly, but nothing out of the ordinary. THEN, I get in my car and we go our separate ways. 5 minutes later

Mom: “Hey! Did you call me, whats up!”
Naomi: “No, mom, you see a missed call on your phone because when you couldn’t find your phone in your car you had me call you to find it and thats the missed call you see, so, no I did not call you”
Mom: “OMG, I am so embarrased…okay, I’m crazy, love you goodbye”

And again, that was nothing out of the ordinary. She also has some habits, that I always drive me crazy, but I am slowly finding that I, myself do those same crazy habits!

Example: If she is using a cucumber or any vegetable for that matter, she will use about 5/6th of it and then put the smallest chunk back in the fridge. I always wondered what the point was for saving the smallest piece of vegetable or fruit bceause I used to always open the fridge and find little pieces of fruit or vegetables, but she always says “Maybe I will want it later, so I never want to use the WHOLE thing” I always thought it was the wierdest, strangest thing, BUT I DO IT TOO!!!! I did the same thing the other day and Jason asked me what the heck I was saving 1/4 of a cucumber in the fridge, why not eat it and I said “What if I want it later!?”

Bottom line: My mom is a little crazy but I am my mothers daughter and I love her. The end

Okay, moving on. I had the BEST post workout ‘snack’ yesterday! In the morning I did some crazy tabata style cardio using my body and the Bosu Ball. The Bosu ball is an amazing fitness gadget, although I wouldn’t call it a gadget because when I think of fitness gadgets I think of things like the ‘Shake Weight’
The Bosu ball is more of a fitness Tool, that has a TON of uses. I love it because you really can do so many things on it! Weight training, cardio, core workouts, all while helping with stabilization and balance.
THIS POST shows me doing some exercises on the Bosu
So, later in the day I went to the gym and worked shoulders and core. It was a great workout, again-supersets in and out of the gym in 42 minutes, thats my kind of workout! I was sweating and working hard the whole time ! Shoulders are one of my favorite body parts to work so I LOVE this workout!
Enter-nourishment

I got snap happy with my camera. It was just so pretty! This was 1 scoop of MGN protein powder (mixed with just water and ice) 1/4 C blueberries and 1/4 C cooked oatmeal with cinnamon. I layered, and made it even BETTER!

I also got this in the mail that I ordered! Caramel toffee fudge ON protein! I can’t wait to try it, it smells great
Later, I went to my parents house for dinner. Yes, my plate is the one piled high with steamed kale.
Steamed kale with no salt seasoning and grilled steak. MMMM

Before dinner, I had some cucumber slices as the “chips” and dunked it in this 365 salsa. Its good, but quite salty.

Of course the lemon water (I cut 1 lemon and squeeze the heck out of it. Place it in a pitcher with water and keep it in the fridge!)
I got to sleep in a bit this morning, after 3 days working at 5am. I took my time and made a delicious breakfast! Lemon water and 1/4 C oats with 1/2 C liquid eggwhites and a few berries

The protein. OH, and of course coffee!!

Todays song is by an artist who I have a slight obsession with. Joshua Radin is AMAZING. This is him performing the song he sang at Ellen and Portia’s wedding called “Today” and this is one of the only songs that will make me cry

Its blurry, but opinions: WHICH ONES #1 or #2?

(#1)  OR  (#2)
  • Do you find you have tendencies of your mom, dad, grandmother or grandfather? YES! I do 🙂
  • Favorite dip?! I am loving salsa these days!!
