Things to NOT Eat While Driving!

Hey friends! Almost there to the weekend. I am sure you, like me are just itching to get this week over! For some reason it’s dragging on a bit, I have a feelign it has to do with some holiday that is next week. Christmas is it? (just kidding, guys of COURSE theres excitement in the air for this holiday! Even I am excited-but more because I get a HUGE break from work. As most of you know, I don’t celebrate Christmas, but I can still be excited for this time of the year!

Speaking of holidays–I have the easiest and perfectly deliciosu recipes for you to try out from yesterdays post! The peppermint bark and pumpkin-gingerbread muffins will be a HIT at any holiday party, trust me.

I find it so funny when I am driving and I look over at another driver and they are eating something that no one should EVER be eating while driving. It is either extremely dangerous, messy or all of the above. If you have to look down to eat something  every 10 seconds and make sure its not getting all over yourself or your car seat, then it is probably not the best idea to have while driving.

Top 10 foods to avoid while driving

1. Salad: I don’t know about you but when I eat salad, I acutally have to look to where i poke my fork in the salad container. I can’t just blindly go stabbing my fork down hoping i’ll grab a measly piece of lettuce. Therefore, eating a salad while driving is not the best idea becauase your eyes should be on the road. I have tried it and the next day I found random pieces of bell pepper, mushrooms and sunflower seeds all over my car. Yeah-that was fun to clean up!

2. Hot drinks with no covers: This should be self explanatory. Have you ever tried writing something while in a car and you can’t, so you wait until the car moves slower so yoru handwriting doesn’t look like you were writing during an earthquake. Drinking a hot beverage (with no cover) while driving is just like this, you try to drink it while moving slow, except the drink will end up getting all over you. Just don’t do it.

3. Things like ribs, chicken wings, finger foods that are covered in sauce: Unless you want this sauce to be all over your steering wheel, clothes and car interior, then go for it! If you prefer to keep all of those things ‘sauce free’ then wait until you get home to chow down on the ribs

4. Soup: Unless this soup is drinkable, then just avoid it all together. Moving the spoon of hot liquid from the bowl to your mouth is an accident waiting to happen

5. Things that need to be cut: By this I mean anything that is too big to put into yoru mouth like pancakes, chicken breast, french toast etc. If you need to cut something to make its way into your mouth, then I would avoid it. What ends up happening is you cut it with your fingers, fingers get dirty, car gets dirty. OR you stuff the whole thing in your mouth which could be a hazard in itself.

6.  Pizza: Same reason of the transportation issue from plate to mouth. Imagine the grease, cheese toppings falling off within the transport period. Unless these are bagel bite pizzas taht you can pop into your mouth, save the slice for when  you get home

7.  Anything with seeds: You name it, watermelon, clementines, peppers (yes I have eaten a whole pepper-worst idea ever) Gaurenteed you will be finding seeds in your car for the next 4 months.

8. Popsicles on a hot day: Unless you want colored sugar all over your hands, arms and clothes, just avoid it, k? Same goes for chocolate on a hot day. It melts. It gets everywhere

9. Sandwiches or wraps that are overflowing with no aluminum foil: Things that are packed into a sandwich or wrap are a disaster waiting to happen while driving. One bite adn the ingredients go everywhere. On those same lines–Jelly donuts should most likely be avoided for the same reason

10. Corn on the cob. Really? I would suggest to avoid food that you have to stuff in your face, obscuring your vision, and guaranteed to lodge kernels so deep into your teeth you will most likely want to whip out some floss while driving too. Bad combination

Brown rice AND sweet potato (half and half) with fresh veggies and I also had ground lean turkey breast on the side for the protein aspect of the salad. Need I say more? I Love salads, I usually have at least one salad a day (not necessarily as my meal) For instance with dinner whatever I am having, I also make myself a small garden salad on the side. I love the crunch and obviously love veggies so can’t go wrong!

Question of the day: What is the most ridiculous thing you have seen a person eat or do while driving? (keep it clean people)

Song of the day: Rihanna “S & M” Which apparently stands for something innapropriate but I have no idea. I like the song and thats all I know!
