Heck yes I am competitive

First I wanted to mention tht I finally update my “About Me” page and “Exercise/Workout Tips” so check it out!
I think that deep down, everybody is a little bit competitive. I have met people before who say “nooo, not at all am I competitive” and I just don’t think this is possible. (if this describes you I am in no way trying to offend you or judge you) I believe that everyone has a small inkling of a competitive nature. Its what makes you work hard every day–whether it be to keep a relationship strong, in the workplace, during your workout, or bringing 10 bags of groceries in from the car, (as long as that means not making 2 trips). There is something inside everyone that makes them want to be the best, work their personal hardest and really shine!
Personally I would say on a scale of 1-10, I am probably at a 6 for competitive-ness. I really don’t consider myself a competitive person, BUT with that said, I hate to give 60% when I could be giving 100%. What does this mean? I know my body, and these days I am more in tune with my body than ever before. I know my personal limits and how I can push myself. I like to push myself to the max.
—–Can I go longer? Faster? Harder? lift more? squeeze out 1 more rep? These are all questions I ask myself during my training. This is not to say that every session is balls to the wall, but a few sessions a week, I do push myself because…I KNOW I can.  This does not mean that I am competing against the woman or man next to me on the bench press, I am competing with myself and my mind. Thus, this makes me a competitive person. I want to prove to myself that I can, and I wouldn’t do that if I knew I couldn’t.
Now, i am not suggesting that everyone is competitive all the time, in all aspects of their lives, but I do think that most people are competitive in some aspects of their life at some point.
I wanted to bring this up because I think it is an interesting topic/question. I would love to know your thoughts on what makes someone competitive? and do YOU consider yourself a competitive person? Are there aspects of your life day to day that you work harder or think more about than others?
I had a delicious baby spinach salad for lunch with veggies (heirloom tomatoes in top right corner!!) and 3oz lean turkey breast with Mrs. Dash. I also enjoyed a sweet potato on the side
And this was my snack (with some fruit, veggies and 1/2 C brown rice)
I also tweeted last night that I finally got my new Frye boots in the mail. I AM OBSESSED. that is all I wanted to share my excitement with you all.
I have been such a bad blogger this week–life is busy, work is busy and I am busy!
